One of my favorite types of projects is taking something rather ordinary and making it something special, such as a jar, a pen, or a box. Today’s share is an altered notebook. Many of us love to make lists or write down notes and thoughts, and a spiral bound notebook is just such a practical gift.
I’ve chosen to use the branch, leaves, and blossoms from the new Apple Harvest dies for a fresh, spring look. (It is actually Spring here in New Zealand, despite today’s dreary weather). (The Apple Harvest dies bundle with the Apple Harvest stamp set).
I chose to use the Texture Chic papers with these dies to move away from all the red and pink projects I made with the Apple Harvest bundle. I adore these Texture Chic papers, and I think I’ve hoarded them long enough. It’s time to use them.
One of the many nice things about the Apple Harvest die set is that it includes four flower dies and nine leaf dies, so all that die cutting is done in just a minute or two! I also love the cut lines in both the leaves and flowers. When I added a bit of watercolor, the color seeped into the lines and gives nice variation.
Click here for a complete supply list for shopping, saving, or printing. Please note that the Apple Harvest dies are only available in September, so they may not show up on the supply list if you are looking after September.
And please enjoy this short video showcasing the Apple Harvest bundle. I had fun playing with these “out of the box” images!
