Easy Alternative Projects Using the Bikes and Blooms Paper Pumpkin Kit
Today’s share are four easy alternative ideas you can make with the Bikes & Blooms Paper Pumpkin kit – or adapt for use with your other supplies and kits. I had fun with this one; I do like the bike images, and I always love a good basket you can fill with various, fun images, tailored to the recipient.
For this sample, I used half of a card base and the front of an envelope to create the layers. The 1/8″ hole punch from the Hole Punch Assortment Trio works perfectly to create a faux notebook edge.
Instead of the prescribed flowers, I used the leaves from the Help Me Grow die set with the Sunflower Fields papers for an Autumn look. I like the addition of the Cajun Craze color with the Lost Lagoon and Daffodil Delight.
I added in the butterflies that are included in the Bikes & Blooms Paper Pumpkin kit, but you could use something more plain, if you preferred.
Next, I made a simple strip card using a template from the Design Spark Sketch Book. I used various pre-cut tags and the card fronts from the Bikes & Blooms to create the strips.
I also stamped the adorable bike image from the Bikes & Blooms stamp set with black ink and Flirty Flamingo ink. I inked up the bike in black, then carefully wiped off the seat and handlbars. Next, I inked up those parts with the Flirty Flamingo ink and a Sponge Dauber. I did the same with the basket and Pecan Pie ink.
It’s not a perfect effect, but I also quite like the rustic effect.
I had a lot of fun with this project. The Bikes & Blooms kits have these pre-printed bike panels that were nearly the size of a card front. I wanted a little more border showing on the left-hand side, so created this assymetrical locking gate fold.
And my favorite part: I used one of the little kitties from the Cutest Crew, and tucked her into the front basket. Cute!
These Triple Pocket Fun Fold cards have been very popular! For this version, I used the Waterside Retreat paper pack, and stamped that cute bicycle image from the Bikes & Blooms stamp set on the more plain side.
