Have you ever needed a particular color of ribbon, but didn’t have it? You can create your own custom ribbon color with supplies you likely already have! Today’s sample showcasing this idea features the brand new Happy Hibiscus stamp and die set:
I kept this project fairly simple, using the Country Woods papers are a background. I then adding a section of white, embossed with the Happy Hibiscus embossing folder. Being in the South Pacific, this folder is fantastic! I have hibiscus getting ready to bloom right outside my window.
I do love the hibiscus, but don’t look past these cute little Frangipani flowers, either. These dies are included in the Happy Hibiscus die set, and are slit right to the flower center so you can easily manipulate the petals. I also love the little scoring detail down the center of each petal; you can simply crease for immediate dimension.
Pinks and oranges are not the typical frangipani colors, but took creative license here.
In the short video below, I’ll demonstrate four easy ways to customize your ribbon colors, each achieving a different result. Be sure to experiment on a small piece.
I strongly suggest having some white and sheer ribbons in your stash to give you maximum versatility. Ribbons with black and white or vanilla and white are also really good options.
