You Can Do It: Nature’s Harvest in Watercolor Pencils

Today’s share is another sample featuring the warm, rustic suite, Nature’s Harvest. I just love the cornflowers images in this suite, perfect for using your Watercolor Pencils.

In this sample, I didn’t stamp on paper, but rather on the new Linen Paper, which really is linen. I though a water-based ink would bleed, so instead I’ve stamped with the Saddle Brown Staz-On ink. This gives a softer outline than Jet Black Staz-On.

I colored in the flowers with the Watercolor Pencils, and used a fairly dry Water Painter to move the color a bit. I love the imperfect, watercolored look here!

A must-have tool in your crafting kit is a fine spritzer bottle. I filled mine with isopropyl alcohol and a few drops of Soft Suede ink. Then I used it to spritz the background of the Linen Paper to give it sort of a tea-stained look.

Next I used it quite heavily on the Diamond Weave ribbon. It was a bit insipid in this project in its original vanilla, but the beauty of light ribbons is you can dye them quite easily!
