Today’s share is a vintage-style birthday card, including a video tutorial for you. I hope you will give this project a try! I’ve used the Carousel Birthday stamp set here, along with the Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack. I just loved these the moment I saw them:
I’ve stamped and cut out the little cupcake icings and topped with a pearl for sprinkles. I just love this vintage carousel image and cool fonts that also come in this set.
A gate fold card is a card that opens in the centre rather than at the side. It doesn’t take any more cardstock and is easy to do.
I chose to use the more colourful prints in the Cupcake and Carousel stack because I kept the main image fairly neutral.
And this is a Bermuda Bay version, something more neutral than the pink version.
Both the stamp sets and the printed papers are being discontinued as of the end of May. Please check out the discontinuing items (some discounted) in my Online Store.
And here is the card opened up. As you can see, the card opens like a garden gate, rather than a front door. I used a bit of the leftover Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack for a border along the inside bottom and added the gorgeous carousel horse as well.
And I’ve made for you a little step-by-step tutorial on how to make this fun birthday card:
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
P.S. If you live in New Zealand and are someone who would enjoy gathering with like-minded people to enjoy some crafting, I’d love to have you along to a class or two! I’ll be in Hamilton this Saturday and Tauranga this Sunday. You can see the full calendar HERE.
