Bagsandboxes

This is a very neat project shown to demonstrators by Linda at convention.  I can't remember her last name, but a very lovely and warm lady!

The concept here is very simple – use your Designer Series Papers to make a perfect gift bag by just wrapping it around a box!  Slip the box out and voila! a bag ready for some stamping.

I thought the idea of the card on the front was also very clever.  Seal an envelope, slit one end open and adhere that to the front of your bag for a quick & easy pocket to insert a tag or card.  Stampin' Up!'s envelopes have the same super-smooth finish on them as the Whisper White and Very Vanilla stamping card to give your stamped imaged a clean, crisp finish.

My friend Pauline had a brainstorm in a class one day to punch out flower to cover up little boo-boo's.  I did a really Giftpackagingcrazy thing to this bag and was so frustrated I wasn't about to start over  . . . so I took Pauline's advice and made my bag a pretty little band-aid.  It's sort of floating out of place, but a sight better than what lies underneath!

The paper used here is Fall Flowers.  The second sample is done up with Apple Cider papers – those that are being deleted as of Sunday.  This photo is a bag that was made up by my dear friend, Mirriel.  If you'd like these, get them today!Easygiftpackaging

I've noticed in the years I have been teaching papercrafting that every Christmas there seems to be THE project everyone loves.  2009 brings us the "Rivetmaleapprovedbag in a box" for an easy gift idea.

And I love this quick project, too!  You can make two out of one sheet of our designer series papers and all the rest can be made out of scraps and bits & pieces, so easily a project that can be done for less than $1.

The Dashing paper has been so overwhelmingly popular this year! The Real Red, Old Olive, and River Rock combination is striking, festive, and still easy gift ideasslightly unexpected.

Stampin Up Pauline, a very talented and lovely demonstrator in Napier, designed this beautiful card.  She has a style very different from my own, and I love it!

The accordion fold on this only looks tricky – it's very simple and straightforward once you get your head around how it fold together.  The stamp set used here is Bloomin' with Beauty in the Spring Mini Catalogue (sept 08-Nov 08).  The images were coloured in using sponge daubers with Bashful Blue, Mellow Moss, and Apricot Appeal.

Pauline then added a bit of Crystal Effects for a glossy, wet look on some of cardmaking classes the petals and while it was still wet, sprinkled on just a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  Simple and stunning.

This is my Incentive Trip swap revisited.  I'm also going to use this as my Christmas cards this year – I love the idea of a little beatiful, fun card that also holds a tiny gift.  And what better than chocolate?  Okay, maybe money . . .

This little project uses the One of a Kind set and the matching punch, both of which will be deleted on November 30th.  This set wasn't really intended to be a Christmas set, but done up in the Purely Pomegranate, I think it could pass for poinsetta-like.  creative gift ideas

With the purchase of this set, I'd be happy to include complete directions for easy cardmaking stampin' Up! this card!

I really enjoy making these quick and easy little books!  Fill these with photos, recipes, embelishements, advice, etc.  You can make these as thick or as thin as you wish and any size.  Featured here is the Artfully Asian set, coloured in with the Stampin' Write Markers and then accented with Crystal Effects.  Crystal Effects leaves a scrapbooking classes Auckland dimensional, shiny look, making the flowers stand out and look "wet" or embossed.  The background is stamped with the Weathered background stamp, one that is overlooked but a really useful one!  It's really neat when layered with flowers if you enjoyed the aged, distressed, or heritage look.

The designer paper used here is Apple Cider, also used on a scrapbook page posted earlier in the month (scroll down for it).  These aren't colours that I would naturally think to combine . . which is one reason I love to use the papers: it makes the colour combination decision for you!  These particular papers will be retired in 6 days, so please order now!

The neat feature of this book is the double set eyelets.  This book uses four of the Stampin' Up! jumbo eyelets, so the back is as neat looking as the front.

If you would like to make this project, contact me to set up a time.

RivetbudgetwiseMy favourite packaging idea revisited!  Not only great for Christmas, but perfect for birthday party favours (or invites!!) or any other fun occasion.

I've done this one up using the Wintergreen Designer Series Paper and the Crazy for Christmas set, which is perfect for this project.  I quickly coloured in here & there with the Stampin' Write markerrubber stamping classes pop cans and done!

I have just a few slots left in December for classes – let me know if you'd like to book a class for EASY and NO TEMPLATE packaging ideas!  It's a great way to also learn rubber stamping techniques!

I am now "getting it".  I have this tremendous urge to spend lock my door and scrapbooking layout ideas scrapbook!  I really love it.  Next year will bring more pages to my classes, more on offer, and more on this site.  How about a scrapbooking day?  Show of hands?

This page is an easy layout and actually the first layout I have attempted that uses more than one photo, as my dear Ria pointed out to me.  I have a preference for layouts with a strong focal point . . . that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

The layout was inspired by My Time.  Her great layout can be seen here.

The Designer Series Papers are Summer Picnic, available through the end of November.  I just love the bright colours in this series. This is also the papers used on the spinner card below.  The die cut blooms are a coordinating accessory for these papers and lots of fun, especially since they are on textured card and super big!  My friend Jan G made a particularly BIG and BOLD page using this same layout.  I forgot to get a shot of hers before she took off – send us one, Jan?

Stamps used here are from It's a Beautiful Thing and Enjoy Every Moment, both from the Spring mini catalogue.  Journaling to coordinate with your project is another great use of those markers on promotion this month!

Oh, and yes, I also made three of the girls in the photos.  The fourth one is a close friend of our family, Ayla.
