I hope you know when I am late with my blog posts that I'm not ignoring you – I've just been going full steam!

Stampinupfifthave This last Saturday was a fantastic day of learning, training, and inspiration with a good portion of my demonstrators around New Zealand.  A big thank you to all who both helped and made such efforts to be there.

I wanted to share one of the projects we did for the day here, too.  I made up this card (not bad for 11:30pm night before?) as part of our service project for the day for everyone to sign.  We had a few cardst there (to be shared in later posts) intended to be sent to a few people who don't get thanked enough.  I hope the recipients enjoy them and feel the sincerity that went into them.

I am going along with my Creative Challenge Team Theme (say that three times fast) and used the Build A Brads here, which were just perfect for this very large card.  With the DSP on them, they really add such an elegance.  And you always have the perfect thing for your project!

Simply use the 1/2 inch punch and stick to the top of the brad.  Then cover with the bubble sticker (included) to finish it off.  Easy!

Here are also some photos of my ladies hard at work – aren't they lovely:

IMG_6223 Here is a beautiful card she made for me!  Isn't it great?  This was a gift for being awarded New Zealand Demonstrator of the Year for 2009.  I appreciate so much all your encouragement and support.

Who doesn't love Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze together?  Not anyone I've met so far ~

This is called a Pyramid card, one I've seen a while back, but have never made myself.  I like it!  Something a bit different and fun!

Please meet Pam Cregeen, one of the lovely volunteers for my Creative Challenge Team!

This month each team member received a couple of Build-A-Brads and a selection of Windsor Knot papers.  Check back each week during June to see how each team member interpreted her challenge!

Comments and cheers for these ladies is most welcome!

DSC00482 Pam has used here her beloved Office Accoutrements set – very nice Pam!  And I like how she's made the closure for a fun fold on this card.  Very creative!

I know many of you are waiting to hear how the weekend went!

IMG_6495_edited-1 First of all, it was a fantastic weekend and I am so glad that I ended up going over to the Gold Coast to compete.  I went with a fabulous team of Kiwi women, led by the gorgeous Ali Gascoigne.  It was really a neat thing to go as a group and to support one another.

Saturday was a huge competition for the Australian Natural Bodybuilding Federation with something like 160 participants.  I feel very honoured to have won third place in my Figure category as the women there were all so beautiful.

Sunday's competition was smaller and I was placed with a second place trophy and a fourth place medal in two categories.  The other ladies on the Kiwi team placed very well – you can see all the results at www.gofigure.co.nz.  Know that NZ was represented well over the weekend!

I felt good about both outcomes and mostly I feel good about acheiving my own personal goals.  What's next – I'm not sure.  I will mull it over with my most trusted advisor and decide next week what the next mountain will be.

I've just put a back shot on here because I don't want to be offensive to anyone.
The costumes are teeny weeny!!  If you want to see a few more, email me.

Thank you all for your loyal support and cheering me on when I want to collapse!  Now back to stamping!

Waterfall cards became popular many moons ago when I was first discovering Stampin' Up!, and has remained a favourite amongst my customers.  It's such a simple concept, yet unique and adds a real wow factor!

Stampinupwaterfall Pull on the tab at the botom and not only does a hidden message appear, but the three tiers of images cascade.  It's a very fun card, especially popular amongst the kiddies.

For a hands-on how-to, email me to book your class today!

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  Flight of the Butterfly

Scrapbooking 005 Thank you, Carrie Burke, for this lovely submission to my site!

I like to use of colour here.  She's successfully mixed some muted shades and distressing with bright, bold images, which I think it quite a cool look.  I also love how those flowers match just so perfectly!

Carrie used a sketch layout from www.pagemaps.com as her inspiration.

Looks like a fun day!

Moviemonday

Yesterday was a most enjoyable afternoon!  We did a 40 cards in an afternoon class, although I'd like to go back and call that an "UP TO 40 cards in an afternoon" class.  Some Stampinup40cards finished four cards, some 24, I think at last count.

Madeleine jumped in at one stage and made 12, so I know the 40 can be done in 5 hours – if only we could stop talking and eating!  (smile)  At one stage, I stopped the mad production and gave a little demo on the stamp-a-ma-jig, or the placement tool Stampin' Up! offers.  Have a look-see, especially if you have not seen one of these in action.

The sample cards were made using the Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' kit – those kits can make enormous amounts of cards, tags, and pages!

And for those who were here today – no, I didn't edit out the end of the video!!

A lovely card from the lovely Pauline McArdle in Napier.  You may recognize her from her many publications in Up2Scrap.  She's got such an elegant, tasteful style – we love her!

StampinupPaulineMcArdle Pauline's used the Playful Petals stamp set here in a creative way by combining it with embossing and the Scallop Circle Punch.  The ribbon loops in and out of the card through the Horizontal Slot punch (the perfect size for fitting ribbons).

A soft edge made with the Eyelet border punch finishes it all of so nicely.  Thanks very much Pauline for your gift of time and talent!
