It’s been a week since I last posted. We are down to the wire now with my eldest daughter leaving to serve a mission, and there has been so much to prepare, and of course, spending all the last moments with her that I can.
Today’s share is inspired by a display sample shared by Paula Dobson at our last OnStage (Stampin’ Up! training day) here in Auckland. I loved the page she created, then adapted the concept to suit my style and photos:
I would describe my favorite style as “clean vintage”, and this layout is exactly that. Using the flower image from the new Wood Words set, I love the little bit of border with copper splatters on the expanse of white. Here I’ve used Elegant Eggplant to tie in with Madeleine’s sweatshirt.
I love, love, love the look of stamping directly onto these new Wood Textures papers, so we will be doing that more! And this awesome branch and flowers are from the new Colorful Seasons dies. They have a bit of an Asian feel which just adds a bit of interest and unexpected to a project like this.
Another fun details is the crumpling of the doily here along the edge. And I love the copper embossing powder. And I love how it looks like I’ve spilled it, but it totally just works with the colours. Great stuff!
Thanks for stopping by on a cold Thursday evening in New Zealand! I look forward to seeing some of you this Saturday at our Tauranga Extravaganza where we will make four projects with all new products!
