After many requests from class guests, I finally cased this lovely swap card from Cheryl O’Bree, a demonstrator in Australia I’ve had the pleasure of knowing for a few years now.
I did change up her original design a bit to suit, and here is what I came up with:
There are a number of steps to this one, but the techniques are just inking, tearing, and distressing. The colours are also very simple: Marina Mist, Soft Suede, and Sahara Sand.
I do like how the butterfly worked out – I don’t often stamp images on coloured cardstock. Here, the Butterfly is stamped with Early Espresso on Sahara Sand card and then sponged around the outer edges with Marina Mist ink. The photo doesn’t do it justice.
A bit of ruffled Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon and an Antique Brad finish this one off nicely. Sadly, Papaya Collage (stamp set) and the Fabulous Phrases stamp set are both retiring in a few weeks! Be sure and place your orders online or via email as soon as possible to ensure availability.
