Today’s share is a scrapbooking layout I created not only for my scrapbook classes, but to participate in a sketch challenge in a Scrapbooking Global Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group. Here is the sketch:
I call this type of layout a “color blocking” style, and in my opinion, it’s one of the easiest way to get on a lot of photos without it looking too terribly cluttered.
I wanted to use the Let It Snow paper pack; I love all the cute prints in this one. But I was born and grew up in the northern hemisphere, so I love all these cute snow images. However, now living in the South Pacific, I knew not many of my class attendees would necessarily have snow photos, so I used the “other” side with these bright, happy prints:
Did you notice that the stamp set “From Our House to Yours” in the Holiday Catalogue actually coordinates perfectly with these papers? They are so cute on their own, too! I’ve always loved solid stamped images for a quick impact that doesn’t compete too much with the photos in a layout.
But I can see some very cute Christmas tags with those images, too . . that might be forthcoming!
Coastal Cabana and Real Red is such a striking colour combination – it fits in with Christmas but feels more bright and cherry than more traditional colour schemes.
I liked this little detail; it’s something I would have not dreamt up on my own, but was inspired by the sketch above. It’s so great we have SO much inspiration right at our fingertips in this day and age! (I remember doing lots of printing and putting things into binders back in the day . . . )
I do have a coordinating second page to this layout, but I didn’t make it as the pair to this one because I had a few snow photos I wanted to use. So I will share that one at a later date or write it up into a tutorial.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Remember you get 12 free tutorials from the All Stars team when you place an order of $50 or more with me during October!
