{I Wore My Stamps Today}
This is an idea that I've been playing with in my head for a long time, and when I saw Embrace Life, I had to try it out! It all started with my dear friend, Lissa, brought over a finished wall quilt that she had made for a wedding gift. She handed me a stamp from Wonderful Words II and aske ME to stamp it on the quilt! We were both too scared to do it, but it did plant in my head the very cool idea of stamping on fabric. (She stamped it in the end and it worked beautifully).
As many of you know,
my other passion (gee, how many do I have?) is sewing. I wasnted to make a skirt and decided to use a solid white and embellish with stamps! Now this is really opening up some possibilities here . . . !! Watch out – I think I can feel some fantastic handbags coming on! And oh my, what about those quilt options?!
My dad was taking some family photos of us, and this is not a great one of either us nor the skirt, but the best one of the skirt "in action". I took a close up so you could more detail.
You need to use a permanent or fabric-specific ink for this. For my skirt, I have used the Jet Black Staz-On and heat set it with a dry iron. Quilters and Dressmakers, I'd love to see how you 
incorporate stamps into your projects!
WOW!!!!! this is so awesome! I have no clue as to how to sew, but think of the money you could save, and make one of a kind pieces that look exspensivo!

What a lovely looking family! Funny both my girls have those exact dresses and wore them for our last family photos as well. LOL. Thanks for the tips on stamping onto fabric, now I just need to learn how to sew.
LOL Trudi! Yep, that $7 sale at Pumpkin Patch was great. figured it was cheaper than making, especially since my mother bought them in the end! 🙂

Fabrico make a stamp pad just for stamping on fabric. It also has to be heatset as well. My Mum has used it to stamp a handquilted by stamp on tags to put on her quilts. Sometimes the fabrico pads come up on the auction site but I can get one at the local shop if you are interested in having a try with it.
Great work though, and a lovely family photo as well.
