As many of you know, my eldest daughter is leaving home for a year (at least!) tomorrow. Of course, as a her mother, there is so much I want to say to her and wish I had another 17 years to prepare her for the world.
It was therapy yesterday for me to make her this card, which I have now filled with love, advice, wishes, and praise:
You may notice straight away the fun corners – this is the new Curvey Trio Corner Punch coming 1 September! The new silver cording is also a little sneak peek. It was just the right unobtrusive amount of colour to add here.
The chalkboard effect is simple to create with a bit of versamark, white embossing powder, and a heat tool done on black cardstock.
The Friendly Wishes set has quite a few lovely sayings in it, which were perfect for this project. And will be used more for scrapbooking pages, too!
Project Tips:
1. Be sure and use an Embossing Buddy when heat embossing white on black; any little stray specks will show!
2. Punch through both layers of card when punching the corners; it actually seems to work better that way. Nice to use it on the card liner too.
3. The little flowers are done in two colours: Watermelon Wonder and Calypso Coral. It’s the small things that make that subtle difference!
