Welcome to another color challenge with the Colour Inkspiration Design Crew! We are sharing a few projects to inspire and kick off the next two weeks. Simply share your project to the Colour Inkspiration Facebook group, or join in and enjoy the creations.
For challenge #136, we’ve returned to a classic color combination of Sahara Sand, Mini Macaron, and Blushing Bride. Garden Green is also included as a dark version of Mint Macaron.
Although that couch looks in danger of falling apart, I loved working with these colors. I chose to use the brand new Dainty Delights bundle, but chose to just use the stamps for this one:
I had great fun with this background, which is actually pretty simple, but looks fabulous.
Simply create a mask with a scrap paper and a circle die from the Layering Circle dies. Lay over the top of the Basic White panel.
Next, tear pieces of copy paper or a post it note. Use one piece as a mask. Starting at the bottom, simply blend ink below the mask with a Blending Brush.
Remove the mask and reposition for the next layer. Repeat, switching the masks and the colors until you have the desired effect.
Once the background is completed, stamp the Dainty Delights image and the words of your choice in black. Initially, I had thought to use a black pen and fill it in like a silhouette, but with these soft colors, I felt it was too heavy.
I used the Garden Green marker to flick some speckles over the card front. Garden Green is “not my favorite” color, so I use it most sparingly. That being said, it is a really nice companion to Mint Macaron.
