Sometimes I like to challenge myself – make things harder than they really need to be! Okay, that’s a core theme of my personality if I’m really honest . . .
For this one, I was asked to make a Masculine Layout, and I thought how cool it would be if I could make it using a traditionally “girly” colour and a floral stamp.
So it might not be really blokey, but it passes to all the guys I’ve shown it to.
Because the photos are of Jared and my middle daughter, I wanted to have a mix of yin/yang. The Almost Amethyst with the Chocolate Chip, the floral button with the shredded linen thread, the eyelet border and taffeta ribbon next to the distressed edges. I like the contrast!
I used the more grassy looking flower stamps from Pocket Silhouettes to make my own patterned paper and to make the oval embellishment. I’ve also stamped in tone on tone along the bottom, on the textured card. The image doesn’t come out really clean and crisp on textured card, of course, which added to the juxtaposition theme.
