Look What Else the Simple Leaf Punch Can Do!

I’ve just gotten back from five days of running two back to back retreats, and what a fun time we had! We were spoiled with great conversation, massages, hearty food, time with friends, and, of course, some good crafting time.

Today’s share is one of the projects we did at retreat. We made a beautiful, dimensional paper rose with the Simple Leaf Punch and a scalloped circle. It’s really quite an easy concept once you’ve seen it done.

This is the first one I tried out of Berry Burst. I liked how it worked overall, but felt the center needed to be a bit more “full”.

For this sample, I adhered the rose to a glass milk bottle. I plan to fill it with a little treat for a happy gift.

I then made a center double the length for this version out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I attached this rose to one of the Gable Boxes for a fairly quick Christmas box.

The new Christmas Baker’s Twine tones in perfectly with Cherry Cobbler and Peaceful Pine.

The same Simple Leaf Punch also makes the leaves (of course), but it’s really great when a punch has several ways to use it.

I also used the Sweet Foliage stamp in the background for that bit of gold detailing.

This project is my favorite of the three; I just love this yellow rose! I made this version with Golden Glow cardstock. The background is the same Sweet Foliage stamp as I used on the Gable Box above, but this time I heat embossed it in white, and then watercolored over it with Pool Party ink.
