Easy Watercolor Hack with Prairie Grass
Today’s share is a clean and simple card idea, and a clean and simple card is great for showcasing techniques! I was playing around with the tie dye watercolor techniques, and wasn’t loving my results, so I came up with this variation on the same concept with the Prairie Grass stamp set:

This was my first attempt with Cloud Cover and Petal Pink ink refills. I loved how they mixed, and even had a third color in between them. For this seamless result, let the painting air dry.

Next I used Cloud Cover with Crushed Curry which also gave me this third green tone. For this sample, I dried it with a heat tool, which gave me those lines. I don’t mind the lines; I think they add.
So how did I get the circle shape?

Here’s a great hack for you: when you are watercoloring, the color tends to stay where the paper is wet. So, if you wet a circle, your color will stay within that circle. Quick demonstration in the short video below!
Stamp with the Prairie Grass stamp set to finish for a gorgeous silhouette effect.

How to Watercolor a Circle:
- Lay a circle die on watercolor paper. Use a Water Painter to wet the area within the die.
- Dilute one drop of ink refill and drip the color onto the edge of the circle. Let it spread. Add more as desired.
- Repeat with a second color.
- Remove the die and let dry naturally or use a heat tool for a different effect. You may end up with a third color as the colors mix.
