Most people love a little bit of a treat in the afternoon or after dinner, and a single serving of yummy chocolate cake would be well received! Enter the Mug Cake – a cake mix you pour into a mug, stir in a few wet ingredients and microwave for a perfect single serving of cake. Yummy!
Stampin’ Up! now has cute Mini Jam Jars, and each can hold about 1/2 cup of contents. I found a recipe at TableforTwoblog.com that is exactly 1/2 cup – perfect for this adorable little food-safe jars!
In the video below, I’ll share a few more ideas with the Mini Jam Jars, but making your own mini cake mix is quite unique.
I’ve decorated the jar with the Hand-Penned papers, and that cute mini enveloped from the Snailed It bundle. It’s just right for the tiniest card ever, with the remaining instructions inside:
How to Make a Mug Cake Mix: (courtesy of TableforTwoblog.com)
- Add 2 Tbsp flour
- Add 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
- Add dash of salt
- Add 2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
- Add 2 Tbsp Sugar
- Fill any remaining space with chocolate chips or nuts.
You don’t want your layers to have the room to shift.
- Write out remaining instructions in a card or on a tag.
Add 5 Tbsp milk and 2 Tbsp oil. Stir, pour into a large mug, and microwave around 70 seconds.
