Today’s share is a Masculine Double Layout using the new Urban Underground Suite – coordinating paper, stamp set, washi tape, embossing folder, and embellishments help make this project come together beautifully.
Well we are getting the tail end of a tropical storm here in Auckland at the moment; I’m pleased I’m tucked in at home warm and dry while the storm outside does its thing!
I kept this layout relatively simple; I wanted the photos to tell the majority of the story and everything else to just support the love on display. Plus – masculine layouts don’t always call for fine details.
I have used the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper as the foundation for this project. I crumpled them up and sanded a little to bring out the creases. I found as I taught this last month that some loved that look and others really “didn’t want to ruin a perfectly good piece of paper”! I embrace either philosophy! As long as you are happy with the end result, that’s all that matters.
The Urban Underground papers also feature a few prints that have foil in them, so we used those as accents. We also used a strip of the actual Silver Foil, a product I’ll admit has never taken my fancy UNTIL I saw it embossed! It goes from ho-hum to amAzing! Here I’ve used the Sparkle folder.
My title reflects the truth of the relationship between my husband and my youngest daughter, Sofie. I’ve found that the Crazy About You stamp set and Hello, You dies have been just invaluable in my scrapbooking projects. I’ve hand cut the words for a more casual look, too.
Every single one of my layouts has a heart, either prominently or hidden. I’ve used them on this double layout as a bright red accent against all the black and silver. Not too much, though.
I do try to give my students options when doing scrapbooking so that everyone has something that really fits their own style and needs. This double layout could be used as two single layouts if someone wanted, too.
