This month in the Global Video Hop team, we decided to each feature a Clean & Simple (CAS) project. This was challenging for someone who doesn’t normally do this type of card, but I wanted to give it a try.
After doing some research into what constitutes clean and simple, I felt the Whimsical Trees bundle was just perfect for this style of card:
A Clean & Simple card is not necessarily a “Quick & Easy” project. CAS cards can still feature advanced techniques and take a decent amount of time. The main differentiation is that a CAS card contains a significant amount of empty space.
I admit I thought those little “trees on a stick” were strange when I first pulled them out. BUT every project I’ve made with the Whimsical Trees bundle so far has featured them. They are actually just so adorable.
This would also look great in a very neutral or rich color . . . .
The colorful strip is not paper, but rather just layers of ink. You can do so, so much with just your ink pads and some tools. In this case, I used the Blending Brushes, post it notes, and a Decorative Mask.
See the relatively simple process in the video below.

And don’t forget to make a matching envelope! (or embellish a pre-made one).
Please enjoy this short video of this fun project! And I’d love for your to join me on YouTube for more techniques and projects. Enjoy the rest of the cards on the hop, too!
