We had fun last Saturday at our Scrapbooking Day in my Stamp Studio – hope you can join us next time October 19th!
I designed up a new layout for the class based on Tami Gould Hewlett's Digital Design – I had to modify here and there quite a bit because with My Digital STudio, you can change the sizes to fit what you imagine in your head. With traditional scrapbooking, one must work within the parameters of the photo sizes and the stamp sizes! Makes for a fun challenge!!
Here is her original layout done with My Digital Studio:
And here is my version done using traditional stamps and cardstock:
I've used the Clay Flower Molds and the Simply Pressed Clay in the upper right hand corner. Love these and had to use them somewhere on this page! I've dipped it in our Dazzling Diamonds, too. These are great for layouts because they stay so soft, they don't damage anything on a facing page.
While I love the Swallowtail stamp, this time he took backstage in a soft Crumb Cake ink and let the photos take centre stage.
Sneak Peek on the upcoming Chevron Punch! This will be available in 3 days!!
One of my favorite ways to tie all the colours together is to colour directly onto the stamp images with markers. Here I've used the Feel Goods stamp set and coloured it with Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry, and Soft Suede. Between this and the photo, it all coordinates pefectly! I love how with stamps, you can use the same images over and over, all with just the right colours for your projects.
These layers were a bit of a brain-bender for the ladies on Saturday, but we got there in the end! This is a great little scrapbooking technique for using up those little strips or bits and pieces, too.
I tied in the Rich Razzleberry with this medallion stamp from Serene Silhouettes – and the colour was just perfect to work in with the photo, too.
I hope you will give this a try or join me for an upcoming class!
