It’s just incredible to me that I made these notebooks almost an entire year ago! The year 2020 and 2021 have just flown by. Today’s share is one of the gifts I made for my Stampin’ Up! team last year, this one featuring the Prized Peony stamp set and the emboss resist technique:
One of my favorite projects is to take something rather ordinary, such as a jar or a notebook, and make it personal and special. For this project, I took $5 notebooks and dressed them up with the Prized Peony stamp set.
Each person also received a matching card with a personalized message to them inside. It gave me a lot of joy making something particular for each person, according to their style and favorite colors.
At the time, I was asked quite a few times where the flower came from. The Prized Peony suite was noted for the innovative and gorgeous dies, but don’t overlook the beautiful floral stamp images included, too.
This look is easier than one might think: simply white heat emboss the image, the wash over with diluted Gray Granite ink. After that’s dry, watercolor those flowers in any colors you choose. Be sure and mix the colors for a unique look!
Each gift set included a notebook, a card, a matching pen, and some chocolates. I’ve used Merry Merlot on this sample.
Petal Pink also makes for a soft flower color, and pairs so nicely with the Gray Granite.
This one is my personal favorite. I mixed both Night of Navy and Gorgeous Grape for unique flowers.
