I hope you’ve had a great weekend! Today’s share is the scrapbooking page I taught during the month of September, and this one features my husband. Wow was he touched to have a page about him!
It’s a nice photo of my unshaven husband.
The papers I used are from the Coffee Break Designer Series Papers. As you can see, not all the prints have a coffee theme, which I didn’t really want for this project; they are actually just quite neutral prints perfect for the guys.
One of the many, many things I love about crafting and Stampin’ Up! in particular, is the EASY ability to create simple embellishments that coordinate with the rest of the project! I’ve simply taken two scraps in the coordinating cardstock and die cut them. They blend in perfectly and cost almost nothing.
That awesome brick background is created with Embossing Paste, one of my new best friends. I have simply coloured it with Early Espresso (again easy to match when the cardstock and inks are designed to coordinate perfectly) and used the Brick Mask.
Next I sprinkled a bit of Copper Embossing powder over top and heated. Oh I could eat that copper powder for breakfast – LOOOOOVE it! The bubbly, patchy look here is interesting and great with this layout.
I won this stamp set, Just Add Text, free at one of our recent Stampin’ Up! gatherings (OnStage), and I’ve used it so much. It’s a great one for scrapbookers!
