This month the All Star Design Team is showcasing the By the Bay Suite, which includes the Seaside Bay bundle (stamps and dies). I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this suite, and one of the projects I’ve made is this double page layout for my scrapbooking classes.
This layout is actually a remake of a layout I did about 12 years ago, and one that I really liked. I love the fresh, beachy colors with a splash of the red:
The people who come to my scrapbooking classes now prefer a double page layout, which they can use as a full spread, or as two singles. This works especially well for people who have two children or both girls and boys to accomodate.
So I carried on the layout design to a second page. Three strips of the background felt overly “heavy”, so I left it to two and used the remaining room to have my daughter write some detailed journalling. I re-commit every so often, but I am re-commiting again to do more journalling on my layouts! These are the things that will be the most treasured in the end.
The Alphabet A La Mode Dies are pretty great for scrapbooking and cards with the very thin font. It’s easy to spell out a longer title for a layout, or use them on a card. You can also get quite a few letters out of small scraps!
I love these cute little seashell dies in the Seaside Bay bundle – also a great way to use little scraps. I let my class attendees select the colors they wanted from a bin of scraps, so everyone’s page turned out a little differently.
That great red border is from the Palms Dies, a nice compliment (a great one, really) to the Seaside Bay bundle.
