I had so much fun playing with the spotlight technique last week! I found three easy methods for this fun technique I’d love to share with you!
The spotlight technique is great for emphasizing a portion of an image. It’s also great for bringing a bit more interest to an otherwise flat image, and it also makes for quick projects because you’re only coloring in a small portion (usually).
In today’s post, I’m sharing the sample for method #2: Using a die or other template to draw a spotlighted area. For this sample, I chose to color in the rest of the image, but you can also leave it black and white.
This great spray of succulents is from the Simply Succulents stamp set, which also has a coordinating Succulents die set for even more possibilities.
I’ve simply drawn around a heart die with the Basic Black marker and colored in that portion differently than the rest of the image.
