Happy Day Swap

Last Saturday I put on our annual Team Training Day, which is an all day event after Convention.  (We have morning trainings all year long as well).  It was a lot of fun and always is!  I stress and stress, but should know by now not to worry as the ladies theselves are what make the day fun.

Here is a quick pic from my phone of some of them hard at "work":

We had a super day together and all of us left with smiles and fatigue. LOL

Here is a pic of my swap, using the upcoming Happy Day stamp set:

It's a simple design, but was a series of quite a few steps to get it all right.  I love the vintage medallion image in that set, which can be used like this or maybe in a very vivid black and white design.

You'll notice these cute little, new flowers.  Stampin' Up! is introducing Clay Molds to our repetoire and they are F-U-N!!  I had a very good play with them and then still learned more about what to do and how to from my team on Saturday.

These particular ones I paid my Sofie (11) in chocolate to make for me.  We dyed the clay Crumb Cake and then molded them. I topped them off by dipping them into Pink Pirouette ink.  Clay and Moulds available July 2!

I could buy stock in Pearls and Linen Thread.

Hope you've enjoyed!   And I must finish with this rather bad photo of a funny moment . .  at the end of my annual training day, I always give recognition to my team for varous achievements.  This is a quick snap of Karen Rogers running for her hug and flower from my husband, Rob, and step-son, Bayley.  the position of her feet here makes me laugh. And Rob's stance, bracing himself, makes me laugh.

And the funny thing is she ran and jumped and wrapped her legs around him! Brought the house down.  I fired her under my breath after that.  All in jest!  You just can't replace those people who make things fun.  Lots of love to my team!

Puzzle Technique in Swallowtail

I came across this puzzle technique on Splitcoaststampers, and gave it a try.  It's an easy one, but it does boggle the mind for a minute . . .

Loving this fresh, fun, color combo: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Daffodil Delight with a splash of Wisteria Wonder.   I've been using a lot of Pool Party lately, and am so happy this color is sticking around!

The basics of what we are doing here is stamping the Swallowtail butterfy and then cutting out the nested flower images.  Sponge colour on each of the pieces and then reassemble the butterfly.

I've also made a matching envelope out of the Calypso Coral Designer Prints as this card is quite a large one at 6×6 inches.  The envelopes are easy to do with the new Diagonal Plate.

If you are loving this Pool Party Coredinations Cardstock, please get it now (in June), as it will no longer be available in single colour packs come July.

I'll be teaching this project tomorrow 7pm in Nelson and in Auckland by request.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Swallowtail, Loving Thoughts

Colours: Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder

Other: White Embossing Powder, Versamark, Heat Tool, In Colour Brads, Butterfly Embosslits, Basic Rhinestones

Senz Vintage Layout Class

Happy Thursday!  I wanted to share with you today the layout I designed to teach at SENZ July 5th.  It was tricky to design, not knowing what was staying or going in the new catalogue, but we made it work!

I have four spots left in the class and I'd love to have you along.  Class fee is $45 and includes $25 worth of yummy product, too.

I've based this whole layout on Crumb Cake cardstock and accents with Midnight Muse and Marina Mist.

Well if I don't have flags on the layout, then I think I must needs include a bunting of some type. LOL  It's just cool.

A sprinkling of flowers, ribbon, and pearls make all the difference.  When the colours are seamless, you can have a great deal of detail and still keep the photo the main focus.

Our basic pearls are a MUST.  You may even get a pack when you take this class . . .

The Lace Crochet Ribbon and the Naturals Composition Paper top it all off with a mini brad.

And the last little thing I'll show is the hidden journaling tag. A nice splace of colour while including an interactive detail.

There's much more on here, but I don't want to reveal all before the class .  Please do book in – even a beginner would be able to do this because I will be right there helping you.

Supplies Used: LOTS  🙂
