Tricksofthetrade

As an American myself, I would not have thought of high tea, but my friend Fiona had that idea with this one.  I like it!

Stampinuppunchpurse My card here is a conglomeration of ideas I found on the net – don't you love how we can take a bit of this and a bit of that and make it our own?

I count eight punches used here – can you find them all?  The purses are made entirely of punches, which is quite cool.  My girls are already planning their invitations for next round of birthdays with these – only 11 months to go and counting.

The floral purse is made with the Circle Circus set.  That's one that I haven't used a lot yet, but will do.  I like it a lot.

Keep well, everyone, and get better if you are under the weather.  Seems it's really going around.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Circle Circus, Stemp Sayings

Colours:  Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Close to Cocoa

Punches: Eyelet border, scallop edge, 1 3/8 circle, 3/4 inch circle, large and small oval, curly label, round tab

Who does not just love these new colours!

This is a page I did up that was featured in the new, beautiful New Zealand magazine, Stampinupfreshcutspage Innovation.  It's available at Scrapbook stores and online scrapbooking outlets.  It's worth getting your hands on a copy!  Very well done magazine.

This page features the Fresh Cuts stamp set, one of my favourites from the new product release in April.  I have emboss resisted the "patterned paper" on the right hand side, adding in the colours I wanted to make the image pop.

The flowers are dyed with the ink pad refills (see a tutorial here) and half back pearls (also from the Pretties Kit) are placed in the centres.

I love my Sofie.

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  Fresh Cuts  $46.95, Together Forever $46.95

Colours: Sage Shadow, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey

Other: Pretties Kit Flowers and ink refills,  half back pearls, clear embossing powder, sponge daubers, large oval punch, Taffeta Ribbon

Our last Challenge Team artist for June – using Windsor Knot and the Build a Brad kits.

IMG_6810_edited-1 Tilly sent over three projects! She got busy!

The first card is a real cutie with a fun envelope-like fold, secured with an Old Olive ribbon.  She was very innovative and used those really tiny stamps from Short and Sweet on her Build A Brad.

Stamp is out onto the Windsor Knot dsp, and colour in with markers and the white gel pen.  Punch out with the 1/2 inch circle punch and adhere to the top of your brad.  Rather than using the clear dome that comes in the kit, Tilly chose to put a tiny crystal on top for the cherry.  Cute!

The next card uses a retired beach set that I adored for the short time we had it.  Now check out how Tilly has adhered the So Saffron Windsor Knot and the striped print together, with a torn edge in between.  She's then stamped on both layers to create the sand and water or sand and sky look.  How cool is that?!

The details with the circle punches and the ribbon is quite nice as well.

The last little treasure uses the Windsor Knot just as a peek of a mat, which is a very nice way to use stripes.  She's repeated the stripes in the Build A Brad placed in the corner.  I like the use of the white gel pen here, too, Tilly!

Our four artists have done such different and neat things with just a few pieces of the same Windsor Knot papers and Build A Brads.  Keep watching next month for the next installement!

Bagsandboxes

I love how this turned out!  This was the project offered up for May's DIY Virtual Class.

Stampinupboxedset We made a set of four simple, but effective, cards with matching envelopes and then a reasonable straightforward box for gift giving.  There's even still more room in the box for a few more if you wish.

In keeping with this month's theme, too, I've used a Build a Brad on the front of the box, giving a nice weighty finish to the front . . . which also matches Stampinupboxcards5 perfectly, of course!

This idea is such a neat gift to receive and a reasonably inexpensive one to make as well.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Three Little Words

Colours: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip

Other: Raspberry Tart Designer Series Papers, Build a Brad, various ribbons, crimper, oval punches

Stampinupfauxpage She was a nice little girl who never sassed her mother.

This is my submission for the July Challenge of the Month.

My page features some neat Faux Techniques, Faux Silk, Faux Stitching, and Faux Buttons.  Can you find them all?

The Faux Silk Technique is quite fun and easy, although it did take me a few minutes to get all those little flowers coloured in.  All you need for this one is some tissue paper and a good glue stick.

Stampinupfauxsilk 1. Stamp on your tissue with a waterproof ink if you are going to colour it in and any ink if not.  Colour if appropriate using a blender pen.

2.  Scrunch up the tissue into a ball and flatten it back out, but not totally flat.  You want a few wrinkles.

3.  Spread glue with the Stampin Up glue stick all over a sheet of card (I've used whisper white here) and stick the tissue down over it.  You can wrap excess around the card or trim to fit the card.

*By the way, I haven't put the journaling on this yet.  Madeliene and I had a big run-in that afternoon, and I didn't want to writen when I was rather upset still.  Storm over; I will add it today.

Supplies Used

Stamps:  Sprinkles  $28.95, Once Upon a Time  $39.95, Perfect Princess  $46.95, Pefectly Pretty Wheel $13.95

Colours: Bashful Blue, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Whisper White

Other: Five Petal Flower Punch, 1/2 inch circle Punch, White Gel Pen, various ribbons, Mat Pack, Perfect Plum Marker

Aren't these striking!

C__Documents and Settings_Elaine and Harold_Application Data_FUJIFILM_FinePixViewerS_Temp_0528-090041_DSCF0091 Elaine's take on June's Challenge Team supplies is two different cards with two different styles.  The first is quite clean and vivid, using emboss resist on So Saffron Card, which is quite clever.  Although that Windsor Knot paper can be interpreted as quite masculine, she's prettied it upw ith a bow and flowers.  The six brads and big bow add a great balance!

C__Documents and Settings_Elaine and Harold_Application Data_FUJIFILM_FinePixViewerS_Temp_0528-090041_DSCF0099 Her second project has more of a textured feel to it with lots of ink sponging and layering up of stamp images.   Elaine has roughed up the Windsor Knot here by tearing around the edges and then inking heavily with the Chocolate Chip, which really gives a nice look!

Thanks for sharing with us Elaine!

Many of us LOVE to do 6×6 pages because they are so QUICK and not a far jump from doing a card!

Stampinupmadeleine I've used the Trendy Trees wheel in Chocolate Chip across the bottom and then added a bit of colour using the Stampin' Pastels.  We don't always think to pull those out, but they are quite effective here.

The Trendy Trees stamp set is a slightly bigger tree than the wheel, and I used that for the embellishment, punching out the tree top with the Boho Blossoms Punch.  That sure was easier than cutting out those tiny leaves!

Stamp Sets: Trendy Trees $37.95,  matching wheel  $13.95, Beautiful Thing $34.95

Colours Used: Tangerine Tango, Old Olive Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Other: Tangerine Tango ribbon, Boho Blossoms punch, Tangerine Tango DSP, Pastels
