Stampinupeastercard Easter is one of my favourite times of the year.  And, being raised in the Northern Hemisphere, this cooler time of year feels a bit more festive to me anyway, adding to the special time that Easter already is.

This card idea is taken from brandycox; thank you for sharing your creative ideas.  This industry has a lot of give and take, which I really appreciate especially for those times when one hits a "creative block"!

I realize that the papers here and two of the colours are now retired.  However, you can still use the idea with new papers and/or I have a few bits and pieces left here you can order if you want exactly what is shown here.

IMG_6013_edited-1 The little chicky and both sentiments are from the stamp set A Good Egg.  I coloured in chick straight with markers and then added a load of glitter.  He looks awesome!

The edge is done with the Scallop Edge Punch for a "cracked egg" look.  Just a fun card today!

Suppplies used:

Stamp sets:  A Good Egg

Colours:  Ruby Red, River Rock, Groovy Guava

Other:  Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper, Designer Label Punch, Small Oval punch, Scallop Edge punch, Earth Elements brads, River Rock Ribbon

As Victoria put it.Stampinupbunnies

How cute are these?  These have been floating around the net for a while now; I have no idea who to credit for the original idea – but darn quick and easy!

Stampinupbunnies3 These little bunnies have a peppermint patty inside for a fun presentation of a small treat for Easter.  A chocolate sandwich.  It doesn't get better than that!

These are made nearly entirely with Stampin' Up! punches, but you can also use the Pick a Petal set to make the ears for a matching print.  The faces are just drawn on with Stampin' Up Markers.  See, my drawing is terrible.  This is why I stamp.

I am sure there are lollies of some type that will work for this project in New Zealand.  I do have a couple bags of the peppermint patties left.  Sooo, because I cannot eat them, I will offer them up to anyone placing an order for the Pick A Petal stamp set from now until Easter or Stampinupbunnies1 until supplies last.

Supplies Used:

Stamps:  None or Pick a Petal

Colours Used:  Various – we stuck to Soft Subtles – a great way to use up bits and pieces

Other: Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 inch punches, large and small oval punches

Cllick here to place your order.

Wonderful news for Stampin' Up! demonstrators and customers today!

Transition to Die-Cut Stamp Sets with the New Catalogue
31 March 2009

We are excited to announce that with the release of the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue on 1 April, we will be transitioning to all die-cut stamp sets! We know that both demonstrators and customers have enjoyed the ease of mounting these types of sets, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer these sets to you in more than just the mini catalogues.

Please be aware that we’ve set up a process to transition from square-cut to die-cut with those sets that we are carrying over from the 2008-2009 Idea Book & Catalogue to the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue. We will continue to fill orders with the carryover square-cut sets until our inventory runs out.

What about the Costs for the New Die-Cut Sets?

Fortunately, with this transition to all die-cut sets, you will not see an increase in price for die-cut sets in the catalogue. So the price you pay for the square-cut sets is the same price you will pay for the die-cut sets.

{A Look at Natural Beauty}

I have been cleaning through my samples, tossing the projects with retiring sets, and wanted to showcase this particular set (Natural Beauty) one last time.  It has been around for a long while and is a well-loved and used set.  My favourite image in this one is the words – I think it's neat how it can be the main focal point, the background, or you can just pull a word or two out of it as on the last sample.

Stampinupnaturalbeauty The first card features the Cracked Glass technique, a fun one that also makes really cool page embellishments.

The second card is a Faux Mother of Pearl look and is coloured in with the watercolour Stampinupfauxpearl brushes and pale ink colouors.  The background is acheived by layering the French Script and the leaf stamp from the Natural Beauty set.

Stampinupnaturalbeautyvellu The last card is one that my ten year old daughter made when she was six, I kid you not.  Here, the flower and the butterfly image are masked so the word stamp is used as a background around them.

Today and tomorrow are the last days to order this one!  set of six for $46.95

IMG_6002_edited-1 I love to showcase the talent of my friends and customers!  Thank you for all your love and support of me and my family over the years. Yes, "years" – can you believe it! Stampin' Up! has been such a blessing to me and brought such a richness to my circle of friends.

This card was a thank you gift from a dear friend in Invercargill.  This person doesn't like attention, so I won't name names, but also didn't want to take credit here either.

Thank you for all the RAK's* you give me!  Pass it on!

Stampinupgoodfriend If you are coming to our big scrapbook day next weekend, Don't Look! (smiles)

My page here was a pleasure to make with the fun, new images and colour combinations!  There's just something so inspiring about having a new toy. . . which is probably why this hobby is so addictive!

The page layout was inspired by Becky Flick at www.pagemaps.com – a great site for inspiration. I was going for clean & vivid just for something different.

I hesitated a looooong moment before putting black legs on Ms. Bird, but I think Stampinupgoodfriendpage it looks just right in the end.  I did add a dash of yellow to the mix for the beak, because I thought a blue beak might just look like Ms. Freezing Bird rather than swimming pool bird.  What do you think?

The flowers were a cool embellishment using two sizes of oval punch.  You can even use the "off cut" centres as flowers, too, but I felt they were too visually heavy for this layout.

Stamp Sets:  Good Friend  available April 1st

Colours Used:  Riding Hood Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Barely BananaStampinupgoodfriendscrapboo Other:  B&W gingham ribbon, two sizes of the oval punches, 3/4 circle punch

Are you a scrapbooker?  or would you like to be?  Beginning and advanced scrapbooking classes available. If what you are looking for is not on the calendar, let's make a date!
