August's Challenge Team pack was a real challenge, in my opinion. This month I gave them the Pink Flamingo papers and some bits of ribbon to match.  Okay, I know Shelli Gardner loves these papers . . . but I'm not sure I know what to do with them!  Let's see what these talented ladies come up with during August.

Pam's gone and outdone herself and made up three cards with the little pack I sent up!

Isn't that beautiful!  I love that Circle Circus set – I WILL get it out and use it one of these days!  Waht a clever and simple way to make a cool focal point.  And do you see the Pink Flamingo paper in the background?  Nice work, pam!

And never would I have thought to pair this paper with Embrace Life, but it works!  I really like that Turquoise and Hunter combination, Pam.

And I think this is my favourite of the three.  What a simple, clever design.  And a great way to use a really loud paper in a small dose . .

Beautiful work, Pam!

Spring Mini Catalogue just released!AUNZSpringMini09[1]

August 1st-November 30th

Email me today for your copy or Download AUNZ_SpringMini09.

Acetatebox My first project with the fabulous new goodies from the Spring Mini!  This is such a great little template – a cute box for a small treat.

First, I am absolutely thrilled that Stampin' Up! is now offering us the Cotton White Staz-On ink.  This is a fantastic ink that will stamp and dry on plastic, glass, acetate, and more.  Many of you have already seen the skirt I stamped up with the Black Staz-On, too.

Don't you love the new paper?!  Parisian Breeze features the very sophisticated colour combination of Chocolate Chip, Kraft, and Baja Breeze.  Love it!

And I think I'll be using a lot of the new Great Friend set, too.  The butterfly is divine!  What do you think?

I've been shooing my youngest daughter away from this box all day today so I could take a picture; she's asked me four times if she could eat those chocolates.  There might be one or two missing . . .

Supplies Used:Acetateboxtop

Stamps: Great Friend set of five  $37.95

Colours: Chocolate Chip, Cotton White Staz-On, Baja Breeze, Kraft, Sahara Sand

Other: Kraft Taffeta ribbon, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, Brass jumbo eyelets, Pretties Kit, cropadile, Vintage Brads

I love how this turned out!  Many of you have seen this as I've toted it around with me for Stampinupupsydaisytin over a month now, but thought I'd put it up here for those whom I haven't seen over the last 6 weeks.

This project uses the ever-popular Urban Garden papers and the equally popular stamp set, Upsy Daisy.  At $39.95, it's a bargain, too!

I offered this tin up as a DIY class in June.  I've seen what some of you have made – beautiful! – and also what you've gone on to make with the skills you learned from this one. Very cool!IMG_6653_edited-1

I have two kits left for July's DIY class and then check back in the next couple of days for a masculine class for August.  Thanks for stopping in!

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy  $39.95

Colours: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss

Other: Clips Assortment, double stitched ribbon, satin kiwi kiss ribbon, various ribbon for handles, boho blossoms punch, embossing powder white, sponge daubers, silver brads, designer label punch, large oval punch

Isn't this FUN?!

P1030408 I love to see what each member of the design team creates featuring the same supplies!

What fun, bright colours – so indicative of Ness herself.  She's taken the pretties kit flower, cut it in half, and it looks like it's been stamped with a bright yellow ink,  The rest of the project features lots of tearing and bling.

Love that build a brad, Ness – amazing colour combination!  Thanks, Ness!

Next month – a real challenge coming up! tune in next wednesday to see what these lovely ladies create.

Stampinupnurserycard Isn’t this such a cute set for a simple, yet effective, card!

This card is actually double size – an A4 card folded in half.  So  . . how do you fill such a big space when the stamp you want to use is relatively “small”??

First I triple matted the image, graduating the mat size to make the image’s visual footprint bigger.

Next I opted to use a very wide ribbon and also some large brads. The build a brads were the perfect thing!

I learned when I was quilting lots to make borders when you needed to make a big quilt out of a small squares.  That technique works well for cards, too!

Our biggest congratulations to Anna Sutherland of Invercargill who had a beautiful baby boy recently!  A group of us signed this card for her – a small token of our happiness for your new addition.

Well it's been a crazy busy week for me and it won't let up for a few days, so I apologize for the delay on the postings!  I have a long list of things to put up – watch this space!

07 10 09_0011_edited-1 I had fun teaching the ladies over the weekend; I hope you all had a great time, too!

This layout is one that I taught as a class at senz.  I didn't quite know how advanced to get with the stamping, so kept that part relatively straightforward, just using stamping to create custom background paper and also an embellishment.  Then we used a whole lot of other tools to add a bit of pizazz.

However, my philosophy is that the faces should still be the star.  I have found that uisng the Stampin' Up! coordianted paper packs is perfect – they all blend in seamlessly, not only creating an easy-to-design project, but because it's harmonious, the photos stand out.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Sweet Stems, Happy Everything, Short & Sweet07 10 09_0012

Colours: Basic Gray, Going Gray, Almost amethyst, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink

Other: Mat Pack, Pretties Kit, Taffeta Ribbon, Celery Grosgrain ribbon, Stylized Silver Hodge Podge, Rhinestone brads, Button Bouquet, Heart to Heart punch, eyelet border punch

Thank you to all who stopped in and said hello during Senz this last weekend!  And some of you I missed, but you left me little goodies behind – you know who you are!

During a couple of my classes, we learned how to tie a neat knot.  You all got it during class but here's a quick video so you can practice a few more times til you've got it down perfectly.

Enjoy!
