Welcome to another Colour Inspiration Colour Challenge!  You are now visiting Jacque Williams in New Zealand.  This fortnight we have #11 – a yummy mix of Soft Suede, Marina Mist, and Early Espresso.

Please join us over the next two weeks uploading your own projects in the above colours (plus black, white, vanilla or any metallics) by joining us on the Colour Inkspiration Challenge Page.  It’s also quite fun to see what others create!

I chose to use one of the new host sets, Background Bits.  I just love the versatile and vintage feel to this set:

The main image is heat embossed in Clear Embossing Powder and then inked over the top in all three of the challenge colours.  I used a circle out of scrap cardstock to mask off the moon image while sponging, too.

This is such an easy to way to create a wow background!

I also used the script stamp in the set to do a little bit more stamping onto the background.

Finish off with a bit of glitter. And just a bit in keeping with the vintage style!

Background Bits is a host set, meaning you can receive it free when you host a Stampin’ Up! workshop OR when you/you and some friends place an order of $300 or more.  It’s a truly gorgeous set!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I know you’ll enjoy the rest of the hop.  You’ll be visiting the talented Lou Kitzelman next!

If you live in New Zealand and don’t have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!   I’m having a Free Open House for the new catalogue 17 June 10-1pm.   Come along and make some projects, take photos of new displays, and have a cuppa!   Feel free to bring a friend, too.   Free gift for the first five registrants.  Register HERE.

Please feel free to sign up for my newsletter for promotions, events, and newsletter-only specials:

Remarkable You in the new Fresh Fig!

Well I think I’m just totally in love with the new Wood Textures Paper Stack. I just keep reaching for it!

Today’s share is a remake of a card I shared from the last catalogue year, but this time done with the new Wood Textures papers and coloured with the Fresh Fig:

This gorgeous magnolia is from the Remarkable You stamp set, a great set with open images for watercoloring.    I’ve used Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, and Fresh Fig here for the flower.

And loving the new tassels!  They sure do add elegance to even a simple project!

This project was made with the new Thick Vanilla cardstock as the base, then the front covered in the Wood Textures Paper Stack.    Next is just some simple layering on the front with a small strip of Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper, Fresh Fig Ribbon, and a doily.

This Saturday I’m holding a Free New Catalogue Open House~!  Drop in between 10-2pm and stay for as little or long as you like!  Make a few projects, pick up a copy of the catalogue if you don’t have one, have a cuppa, and take pictures of displays!  Please RSVP by Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Inkspiration #07 – Cake Crazy Birthday Card in Soft Vintage!

Welcome to another Blog Hop with the Colour Inkspiration Crew!  This challenge I chose to use a stamp set, Cake Crazy, that is typically used with bright, fun colours (see here) and tone them right down with our colour challenge combination:

I hope you will also play along!  You can join the Colour Inkspiration Challenge Group HERE.

I incorporated all the colours into the cake layers, but focused on the Pink Pirouette for the card base.   I embossed the base with the Hexagon Embossing Folder.   Do you notice a bit of Tip Top Taupe ink in the grooves of the hexagons?   I sponged a little bit of ink directly onto the folder before embossing so it embossed and inked all at the same time.

I wanted to go a little more vintage with this project, just for something a little bit unexpected with the Cake Crazy stamp set.  All the edges are inked lightly with the Tip Top Taupe ink and I roughed up a few edges with my scissors.   I also really love to incorporate that Vanilla Lace Trim!

And don’t forget the inside of your card (and your envelope!) to create a “whole package” card!   While you have your stamps and ink out, it’s easy to just add a few more coordinating images in the same colours to the rest of your project.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your stop here at my blog! If you live in New Zealand and don’t already have a demonstrator, I’d love to be yours!

Enjoy the rest of your hop! Your next stop is the talented and generous Rebecca Scurr!

In This World in Vintage Faux Patina

This is my second project using the In This World stamp set, this time using the Faux Patina technique.  It’s a favorite technique of mine because everyone’s turns out quite differently.  It’s fun to see!

Very different from the Vintage Z Fold Card, this project uses darker colours and a has a more subdued look:

The background is created using the door image, the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder, various inks (PeekaBoo Peach, Crumb Cake, Sweet Sugarplum, Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, and Pool Party), and Copper Embossing Powder.

I made the flower using both the Pansy Punch and the Botanical Blooms Dies, but you can also use anything you prefer here.

Now is a great time to order – get a SaleABration freebie with any order of $110. No limit!  Check out what you can get for FREE:

In This World in Vintage Z Fold

Happy New Year!

One of the class kits I gifted my team for Christmas centered around the In This World stamp set.  This is something of an eclectic set and fun to use:

I used one of the samples in the catalogue as inspiration for this one, but changed up the size, a few elements, and made it a z fold card.  I thought the sample was just beautiful.

It’s one of those projects that takes a little bravery, but following just a few techniques, you let the ink run where it may and create a unique piece each time.

To create the Z fold, simply score a strip of cardstock into thirds (or approximately thirds), and adhere between two panels.  So easy and fun!

Tomorrow is a big day in Stampin’ Up! world with the release of the new Occasions catalogue and the start of the SaleABration period.  Check back tomorrow for all the details!  (If you want to order In This World, best to do it after 4 Jan).

In addition, I will be sending out my January Customer Newsletter tomorrow, in the which will be an “newsletter only” embellishment bundle offer. If you aren’t receiving my newsletters, please sign up below:
