Butterfly Basics Project LIfe Layout

Have you tried the Project Life method of scrapbooking?   I’ve done a number of layouts, and have found this to be a very easy and fast way to preserve your memories!

The concept is based on pockets – just fill in the pockets with your photos and any remaining pockets, you can fill in with pre-printed cards or create your own, like I’ve done here.  Use bits of leftover projects, a card front – or just leave one pocket blank and journal.  Couldn’t be easier!

stampin up project life butterfly basics blackberry blissI’ve used the Butterfly Basics stamps here along with the colours Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand, and Rose Red.

A row of pearls finishes off these stunning butterflies.

I’ve used the Crazy About You stamp set and dies for the title.  This is a great scrapbooking set to have!

I heat embossed these “ferns” with Iridescent Ice and Whisper White ink.   Of course, the photo doesn’t do justice.

Give this a try!  The pages and not expensive; start by just using a stack of photos and what  you have on hand.  Shopping list below:

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading:

Do More of What Makes you Happy Scrapbooking Layout

One thing I love about Stampin’ Up! is just the vast versatility of so many of the products!   Isn’t it fun to see the same thing used in so many different ways?  Here I’ve created a fun, happy layout using some of my most treasured pictures of my youngest daughter, Sofie.  She took these herself, unbeknownst to me, while we had a “girl’s day out” together:

I’ve used the fun, bright Cherry on Top paper stack to compliment what Sofie is wearing.  I’m not much into bright colours, but teamed with a lot of white, it’s quite striking.

I’ve used the very cool Alphabet Rotary Stamp here – a cool way to spell out names or whatever you want!

stampin up pansy punch hello life scrapbook layoutA simple, bold flower accents the layout using the ever-popular Pansy Punch.

I’ve used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp here, but this time in Bermuda Bay, rather than a brown.  I find this stamp is best used sparingly, so it’s not really noticed, but adds visual texture.

Awesomely Artistic Vintage Scrapbooking Layout – The Best Things Aren’t Things

My most used stamp set thus far from the New Catalogue is Amazingly Artistic  – love all the variety and the cool layering in this set!   I used this for my Hawaiian Grand Vacation swap, and you may well recognize then the inspiration for this layout:

stampin up amazingly artistic vintage layout masculineThese photos are some of my favorites – Rob and I went on a weekend away up north and my eldest, Madeleine, for some unknown reason wanted to go with us.  And we had the best time!  This is an unplanned, no make-up, dress up photo shoot we did on a whim.  So fun to “play” with the kids even as they emerge into adults.

stampin up amazingly artistic craft white vintage kraft card typeset dspI’ve used our lovely, thick Kraft cardstock as the base here, and stamped that wonderful floral bunch as a border in the Craft Whisper White ink (love that ink!).

A simple design, but one that uses a little different technique or product on each circle.  This is a great layout to use up those last one of different bits and pieces.

Many of the embellishments came from the Artisan Kit, a personal favorite from the Occasions Catalogue.  This velvet Rich Razzleberry ribbon comes with the kit.

Stacked with Love – A Masculine Layout

Like
Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

It’s not often a design a masculine layout, and to be totally fair, this one is pretty “neutral”, but it does have a pic of my husband on it. That should count!  🙂

I’ve used the new Stacked With Love paper stack (24 prints for $14.50!) to create a fun background:

stampin up stacked with love scrapbooking layoutThe big background piece is from the Back to Black Designer Series Papers, a nice set of all black and white prints.

stampin up stacked with love scrapbooking easyThe Perfect Prints Numbers die has this fun heart and heart outline – nice for adding a bit of something that’s not too visually heavy.  And I still love this font – very fresh.

Something Borrowed?

Like
Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

I challenged myself to use the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper and the Artisan Kit to create a timeless, “clean vintage” layout.  This one is yet another one of my girls when they were bridesmaids . . . the fact is: those photos in those colours work in so well with many of the Stampin’ Up! colours!  Lucky that.

The papers are the Something Borrowed series, a lovely set of all Sahara Sand prints.  I created that background shape using the Simply Scored Border Plate – a nice effect.

I LOVE how this flower turned out!   Using only the Pansy Punch, I’ve crinkled it up in my hand, inked the edges and layered them together.   That gorgeous embellishment in the centre is also from the Something Borrowed series.  ($14.50 for 12)

Those yummy ribbon roses are from the Artisan kit, along with the velvet ribbon, too.

And that resist paper above is one of the many FREE SaleABration offerings – order now before March 31 when they disappear!!  Shopping list below:

Enjoy your weekend!  I’m off to Nelson in the morning to spend the day crafting with the ladies there!

Best Day Ever Pretty Pastels Scrapbooking Layout

This is a quick to put together layout great for showcasing pretty papers!  Here I’ve used the coordinating SaleABration Products (Best Day Ever stamp set with the Best Year Ever Designer Series Papers and Accessory Pack) to create a “no thinking” project!

Stampn up best year ever easy layout scrapbooking

Coordinating paper packs make it easy to match up prints.  I’ve used five different prints on the above layout!

Stampin up best day ever scrapbook layout easy

Now just because a stamp image is “all in one” doesn’t mean you can’t separate them. The title above is all one stamp. I just stamped the cardstock and cut the words apart.

Strategically cut strips of paper to capture a perfect row of a print.  The flower is made with the new Flower Medallion punch, which layers up so nicely with the Pansy Punch.

Any of the above printed papers, the stamp set, or the ribbon & buttons are FREE with any order of $110 – no limit!

Circle of Love Scrapbooking Layout

Merry Christmas, Readers!  My posts over the next few weeks will be sparse due to a few large home projects we need to finish as well as just enjoying the summer in New Zealand!  I hope you also have a nice little break from your usual routine over this holiday season.

But today I want to share with you a remake of a scrapbooking layout I did years back – now updated using current products and the latest family photo:

Stampin up scrapbooking layout circles hearts love family butterflies masculine

Next time we will coordinate our clothes a bit better, but I got it to work in the end!

And actually, it’s a good layout idea for tying all the colours in a particular photo together.

Stampin up scrapbooking masculine layout love circles

Nevermind my strand of hair.

Each circle is printed papers, embossed scraps, stamped, or embellished with butterfly punches or buttons.

Great way to use up scraps and that last button in the pack!

Taught this in Hamilton a few weeks ago, and it was great fun to see what everyone designed; each of us has a unique twist on any given “template”.

Merry Christmas again to all!  Thank you for all your encouragement, support, and time!
