Welcome to October, Welcome to New Zealand, and Welcome to another All Stars Blog Hop!

This month we decided to feature the Holiday Catalogue again; you’ll see a variety of Christmas and non-Christmas projects both on this hop AND in the 12 tutorial bundle offered below.

Both of my projects focus on the Quilted Christmas Bundle.  This bundle is so much more than Christmas:

I had great fun making this home decor piece!   I plan to make another one in a different colour scheme, too.   We do a draw for names in my husband’s family . . .  . well I guess I hope I get the name of someone who will enjoy this!

Each square on this wall art features the Quilt Top Embossing Folder and some element from the Quilted Christmas stamp set or die set or both.  Here, I’ve used the star pattern stamps along with the stitching dies.

And isn’t this needle die just soooo adorable!   Such a cute, cute touch to the embellishments.

The Quilted Christmas die set also has these fun daisy-type flowers as a compliment to the quilted stars.  I also think the little cross stitching stamp is very useful!

If you don’t wish to make home decor, consider taking each of these squares and making a square notecard!  Or do both!

Remember the 12 designers on this hop have also created an exclusive tutorial bundle for October – yours free with any $50 order with me (Jacque Williams) or you can purchase below for $20 NZD.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your stop here.  Next stop: Jenneke De Jong!

Easy Christmas Table Decor with Hug in a Mug!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

A few weekends ago we had a very large team meeting for the Stampin’ Up! demonstrators on my team here in Auckland to launch the Holiday Catalogue (coming this Friday!).   I wanted to make a little something for the tables that also showcased some of the new product:

I’ve cut the new Acetate Card Boxes in half to create a little pocket box, then covered in various of the new Designer Series Papers.     I created a very simple tag using the new Hug in a Mug stamp set (so cute!!) and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch (so fast!!).

As you can see, we filled each box with little goodies for the day – namely drinks, chocolate, and a Stampin’ Up! pen.  My thought was they could use these items on the day and then refill the box for displays or re-gifting.

Love this new Jute Twine. I think we will be using this a lot!

What could you put in your box for your table this season?  Or for a birthday party?

The Holiday Catalogue is live this Friday (1 September) and all these exciting products will be available to order well in time for the festivities!

Colour Inspiration 16 – Night in Bethlehem

Like
Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Welcome to Colour Inspiration Challenge #16!  This go around we have a more muted, possibly masculine colour combination, which was perfect for a “to do” project I’ve had on my desk for months.

So my daughter asked me to make a “day planner cover” for her boyfriend some time ago . . . .

I wanted to make something a bit inspirational for him, and I felt the Night in Bethlehem set was pretty great to make something that is quite flat and easy to go in and out of a bag.

I used one of the samples right out of the catalogue as inspiration:

I added a bit of gold to the colour combination for the words. It also adds just a little bit of texture here, too.

Of course, make this into a card easy enough!  This is a great one if you have many Christmas cards to make, too.   You could add some glitter to the star (I used Wink of Stella) and add some pearls or rhinestones.   (Because this would be going to a teenaged boy, I opted for no rhinestones!)

And not in keeping with the colour challenge, here are the other day planner covers my daughter made for him:

Thanks for stopping by! And I hope you’ll join in the colour challenge on the Colour Inspiration Facebook Page!  Your next stop is the talented Lou Kitzelman!

Hearts Come Home Sneak Peek

Like
Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Well last week was very busy getting ready for a huge team gathering here in Auckland over Friday and Saturday!  It was a lot of fun and all the efforts were noticed and appreciated, which does make it worthwhile.

On Friday evening, my team leaders (titled Silver Elite and above) got together for a little meeting, dinner, and socializing.  I wanted to make them each a small gifts – even little gestures can make a difference to someone.  I’ve used the new (and coming in 9 days!) bundle Hearts Come Home, a wonderful set with “skyline” dies:

You can use these three dies separately or all together. They look also nice with all the houses in the same colour, like white, or in graduated colours like I’ve done here.

So I wrapped these die cuts around a giant chocolate bar, one of my favorite gifts to give because it’s always wanted!  And knowing these are crafty ladies, I made the wrapper so it could slip off so they can eat their chocolate and still use the wrapper as a display or refill it later.

The new Music Specialty Christmas paper is also going to be a “must” this holiday season.  The bundle I’ve used here and the papers can be ordered as of 1 September.

It’s a great pleasure to make a special gift for someone – it’s one of the reasons we do what we do!  I know that you, too, will love using this new Hearts Come Home Bundle!

Do you have a copy of the Holiday Catalogue?

Thanks for stopping by my place,

Coffee Cafe – Thailand Grand Vacation Swaps – Altered Notebook

Like
Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

One of the many fun benefits to the Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation trips is the opportunity to swap with other demonstrators around the world. I participated in three different swaps, and today’s share is one of them:

Although it’s not obvious from the photo, this is actually a notebook.  One of my favorite projects is to alter notebooks!  (Those who come to my classes know we do one at least once a year!).  I use notebooks and I love to take something rather ordinary and make it extra special.

Here I’ve used the Coffee Cafe bundle to create a fun, warm cup of hot chocolate (or whatever!) during this winter cold here in New Zealand.

For the background, I stamped and clear embossed using the new Tree Rings background stamp.  I really like this one . . .  it looks more like fingerprints to me than anything, but I think it’s fun and whimsical.      I then inked a tiny bit of colour in Soft Sky.

Make a coordinating pen and it’s a cute little gift set for yourself!

All the images and shapes are in the Coffee Cafe die set except the heart came from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits.

We had such a great time at the Auckland Extravaganza on Saturday. Other than my feet hurting by a very poor choice of shoes, the day could not have gone any better.  You can see all the events for 2017 HERE and also sign up for my newsletter for promotion updates, tips, videos, and newsletter only bundle offers:

South Pacific Thailand Grand Vacation Swap

I’m back in the land of winter and freezing!  Well after super hot Thailand, New Zealand certainly feels freezing!  We had such a fantastic time. I was lucky this year and was able to take my two youngest children, Sofie and Kjirsti.  It was the first time we’ve taken “extras” on the trip with us, which sure made the trip even more fun and also more logistically tricky.  However, I do thoroughly enjoy that all three of my daughters have now been on a trip and all three of them can see a tiny bit of the “big picture” of Stampin’ Up! – that there is SO MUCH more than just papercrafting to this team and business.

Phi Phi Island

The South Pacific Achievers decided to have a smaller swap between ourselves, something we’ve done for the last few years.   We decided to have a Memories & More (Pocket Page) swap, so we could all take home not only fun samples, but use them to create an album right away with our Thailand photos.  I love this idea!

Here is my submission, a 3×4 inch card for slotting into the pockets of the Memories & More pages to enhance photos:

I used a card design from my Open House as inspiration.  These go together so quickly – even those who aren’t “into” scrapbooking could totally get into this!

And here are the swaps from the other South Pacific Achievers:

The variety is neat! We all stuck with one colour theme, though, so they will all work in together. Each one is a mini piece of art.

Clever girls. Some even worked in a wee elephant!

I saw with sincerity that the other demonstrators in the South Pacific have become like family over the years.  When we had the smaller Grand Vacations (just New Zealand and Australia), it gave us a chance to become really close.  I so appreciate their warmth and friendship.  And now our trips are global, which although there is less intimacy, there is also greater opportunity to expand our circles of friends.  How I love Stampin’ Up! and all it stands for and all the opportunities it provides and good people involved.

Feeling greatly blessed tonight.

Love,

Crafting Forever – Gifts for my Open House Tomorrow!

Like
Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Tomorrow I am hosting an Open House (Drop in between 10-2) for the new catalogue, and I wanted to make a few gift items for the day, too.  What set is more perfect that the Crafting Forever?   So cute!

So five attendees tomorrow will receive one of these gift bags:

Each little bag contains two card bases, six pieces of Designer Series Paper, and 1 meter of ribbon.  All the corresponding In-Color, of course!

Each bags has a simple piece of cardstock folded over the top, embossed in the new Garden Trellis folder, and then the paintbrush image from the Crafting Forever set watercolored in.

I really didn’t want to cut these out five times over, so I watercolored a little bit of Smokey Slate around each image to give the illusion of 3D.    If you do watercoloring at all (or want to), I strongly suggest you get yourself a Smokey Slate ink pad for your tool kit!

Above we have Powder Pink, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig.

And these two new colours are Tranquil Tide and Lemon LIme Twist.

I look forward to giving these out tomorrow!   And it’s not too late to let me know if you are coming – drop in between 10-2pm in my studio in Birkenhead.  There is not cost to this event – Just come and make a few projects and enjoy a cuppa!

Bookcase Builder Altered Notebook – Cute Small Gift Idea!

My personal favorite projects are taking something rather ordinary and making them extra special!   All you need is an inexpensive notebook.  I’ve used the small 1B4 notebooks and cut them in half here.   I’ve shared something like this before, but I’ve done up some leftover kits with current images and came up with these cuties:

I used the Bookcase Builder stamp set to embellish these little purse-sized notebooks for something a bit different.   I love how one can put various little things on each shelf, perhaps making the images and project personal to a particular person or to yourself.  Plus it’s fun!

I was thinking these would be a nice little book for writing down those funny things kids say, memories, keeping lists, spiritual thoughts, inspiration, creative colour combinations as you see them . . .

I also made up a more pastel version using the Subtles colour palette.

I simply cut a notebook in half and then covered it with the Kraft cardstock (you could use any colour, of course).   Then stamped the images on white, matted and adhered to the front.

I really enjoyed making this and love how they turned out!   Fortunately, this Bookcase Builder is staying with us for another year, and I look forward to using it on more projects!

Don’t forget to check out the Retiring LIst and the Clearance Rack before those items on your wish list are gone – and grab a bargain while you’re at it!

And if you’re in New Zealand and are my customer or don’t already have a demonstrator, let me know if you’d like a copy of the new catalogue. I can’t wait to share all the new, exciting colours, images, tools, and products with you!

Thanks for stopping by, and stay dry tonight,
