Nelson Stamp Extravaganza Project Parade

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend here in New Zealand.  Today’s share is the other four projects taught at the recent Nelson Stamp Extravaganza, put on by my Creative Inker’s Stampin’ Up! team.  These days are a LOT of fun, and we’d love to have you join us!

Trish Beveridge shared with the group this fun Gift Voucher holder, suitable for any person and any occasion.  Slip a starbucks voucher inside – perfect!   She’s used the Coffee Cafe bundle here.

Emily Tudor taught everyone how to make this rather impressive Diamond Box using the Gift Box punch board!  Everyone used a different paper and made it to their liking.

Rebecca Palmer shared with the group this double pocket card using the You’ve Got Style stamp set.  And this is Sugar, one of my cats who absolutely insisted on being right there despite being moved multiple times.    And me being rather indulgent to the cats . . . here she is.

And Sally Robertson taught something soft and beautiful – a double front card using the Colorful Seasons bundle.  Everyone got to do a bit of two step stamping, watercolor washing, and die cutting.

I hope you’ve enjoyed four of the five projects from the event shared today!

A Series of Vintage Cards using the New Embossing Paste!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Happy Monday!  Today’s share is my project taught at the recent run of Winter Extravaganzas (Tauranga, Auckland, Nelson and Hamilton).  I must admit teaching this one because it was SO much FUN!  It was amazing to see what people created.

By the way, this card was also my Swap for Thailand.

The “background” paper is the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, so each project had a different wood grain as a foundation. But as you can see, they all look great!  I love these papers!

We started by stamping the Sheet Music background stamp onto the Wood Texture paper and had a little lesson is how to make sure the music is right side up.

Next everyone coloured and used the Embossing Paste in a variety of masks. Between the different printed papers, different colours, and different embossing masks – each card was truly unique.

Here I have mixed Night of Navy and Fresh Fig to come up with this RICH purple colour. I love the contrast with the Night of Navy Ribbon.

On this card, I used a very dark wood pattern, skipped the Sheet Music step, and used the Brick Mask.  I think in this case I just used some leftover bits and pieces after a group had done their Embossing Paste, so I have a mixture of blue paste with some Berry Burst highlights around the edges.

This version also features more of a two-toned look using the Medallion Mask.  I like the texture left in the paste, too.

And the Diamond Mask is also quite beautiful.  I’ve covered the entire card front here, using more of an ombre technique, adding more and more ink to the paste as I went.   But you can also “fade off” the diamonds like in the brick sample above.

It’s hard to pick a favorite!  I think they are all gorgeous and I look so forward to playing with the Embossing Paste even more in my August classes!

Thank you to all who were able to attend our team Extravaganzas – we appreciate your support and love to bring you joy!

Beautiful You Vintage – In Three Variations!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Beautiful You is a stunning stamp set of sketched images available in the Occasions Catalogue.  This one is so well-loved and enjoyed!   At the recent series of our team Extravaganzas, I taught different variations of this card.  Which one do you like best?

First, version one is my personal favorite.   I’ve used the Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Stack here, using the Coral and Saffron prints paired up with the Lace Doilies.

I love this girl with a yellow, happy dress and a few drops of the Sprinkles Embellishments!

Version two was by far the most popular among our guests. Still using the Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Stack, this time I’ve used the Bermuda Bay and So Saffron prints.  Everybody loves blue, and especially that gorgeous Bermuda Bay!   On this sample I switched the words from being embossed to stamping directly on the paper, but at our events, everyone did the white embossing for consistency and ease.

We used the awesome Watercolour Pencils for colouring in the dancing girl.  Every single person of the hundreds who did this project was successful.  It’s really amazing how easy they are to use and the professional results they give.

And version three uses the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper.  We still used the Watercolor Pencils – the choices of colors in the pack are so versatile and fitting for the papers and commonly used colors.

The base of the card is made with the Kraft Cardstock, something a bit more sturdy and a bit different.

If you like coloring in, you will absolutely love the new Watercolor Pencils.  And if you love vintage, you would also likely really enjoy the Beautiful You stamp set.

Today is the last day for the SaleABration gifts – earn a free gift of your choice with every $110!  If you have a long list or want to stock up, good to do it while you get the most value for your money!

Tauranga Project Parade – March SaleABration Extravaganza!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

We’ve had such fun at the recent Extravaganzas in various locations around New Zealand!   We love to share Stampin’ Up! with our friends, both existing friends and new ones!

Today’s share is two of the projects recently taught at the Tauranga Extravaganza:

Rhonda Fawcett taught this tool box punch art card using the Nailed It bundle.   Who wouldn’t love to receive this little work of art?! Perfect to have on display, too.

These fun tools are great for tricky cards for the guys in our lives.  You can colour them in or paper piece them, as Rhonda has done here.

Anne Lord taught a joy fold card featuring both the Watercolor Pencils and the Dragonfly Dreams bundle.   The SaleABration gift, the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper, is the black and white background.  It makes a nice, neutral compliment to many of our images.   (You don’t have to color it in!)

Anne created this background using the Watercolor Pencils – everyone’s turned out quite differently!   What fun they had being artists that afternoon.

Each pack of Free Glimmer Paper comes with four 6×6 sheets of Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sugarplum (above).  Even a little bit goes a long way!

This fun card features an acetate window, onto which I have adhered a yummy ice cream sundae using the Cool Treats Bundle.

I love how this set lends itself to about any age, any gender, and many occasions.  It’s perfect for birthdays, but who wouldn’t love to get an ice cream card for any reason at all?!

I also made this a double opening card to allow more room for writing without anything showing through the acetate window.

Extravaganza Altered Gift Bags – Falling in Love

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

It’s our first series of Extravaganzas for 2017!  We’ve already held our Nelson event, and look forward to a full house at our Auckland and Hamilton events this weekend!  There’s still time to register for Tauranga!

Each event I enjoy decorating up a little bag for each of my guests to use for taking home their creations, prizes, and purchases.  This time around I’ve chosen to use the So in Love Designer Series Paper:

stampin up altered gift bag so in love extravaganza new zealand sweet sugarplum

Each bag is also accented with the Sweet Sugarplum Glitter paper – a SaleABration Gift you can get for FREE with your order!

I’ve also used the SaleABration Metallic ribbon and the Gold Sequins here.

I made the little name tags “easily removable” so my guests can re-purpose the bags later for gifts of their own.

They can also unclip the embellishments and use them on a card!

What is an Extravaganza?

An Extravaganza is an event design developed and fine-tuned by the Creative Inker’s Stampin’ Up! team in New Zealand.  Each event is evaluated to make the next one better!  You as a guest make 4-5 projects in about a 5-6 hour time frame.  Each project is chosen to showcase a specific new tool or a technique.  In addition to small group sessions, personal assistance, you also receive complete written instructions for each project to reference later when you are creating at home.   The day also includes light refreshments, door prizes and sometimes other incentives, fabulous displays, and as a special gift exclusive to attendees – a $10 discount on any order placed on the day of $50 or more.

You need to bring adhesives and scissors; everything else is provided and ready for you!

Because these events are very labour intensive to prepare and often sell out, we do need booking in well in advance and pre-payment.

We love to see you and we love to spoil you!

You can see all the dates for the 2017 Extravaganzas on my Calendar!

And here is Miss Cinnamon helping me out.  Such a good girl.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you soon,

Nelson Extravaganza Project Parade

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Over the weekend, I zipped down to Nelson and taught at the Nelson SaleABration Extravaganza there.   My project (will share tomorrow!) was fairly cruisy because I had pre cut and prepared a lot of it, so I had a nice, relaxing day with lots of chatting.

And here is a lineup of the other four projects:

Sally Robertson taught this set of three notecards, each using the different images from Beautiful You and each featuring a different technique.

They bundled together nicely for a small gift or as a lovely present for yourself!

Sarah Pownall taught this unique project, featuring the Dragonfly Dreams bundle and many layers of ink and cardstock!   I loved how she made masks using the Special Reason dies here.

And Copper Embossing Powder on the Sending Love (wooden) Embellishments – brilliant!

Rebecca Palmer taught a masculine – appropriate project using the High Tide set.  Nautical is always a good theme here in New Zealand.

And we had a new teacher this time – Emily Tudor – who shared with everyone this cute, unusual box!  Everyone got to do some smooshing and embossing to create this blended look.

Our next Extravaganza in Nelson will be 29 July.

Other Extravaganzas in March:

11 March – Auckland

12 March – Hamilton

18 March – Tauranga

And don’t forget you get a free SaleABration gift with every order of $110!
