Christmas Cards

Build A Christmas Banner

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Stampin’ Up! has come up with holiday banner kits – and Sofie and I broke out the Christmas Banner Kit last week!  We had a lot of fun each making one.

This banner features the colour combination from the Season of Style papers, but  I don’t have even a scrap of it left, so we embellished with ribbons:

Each of the banner pieces has been sponged using Sponge Daubers in various patterns (templates all included in the kit).  When I taught this as a class, many of the ladies did each flag in various colours, and that looked great, too!

The kit also comes with a complete alphabet, spritzers, 18 banners, and a heavy twine for hanging.  I’ve added a bit of cardstock and some ribbons here for a very simple project.  (Ribbons are always a good idea).

I have two of these kits left over from class, so ready for immediate shipment. In fact, I’ll offer free postage on these to save me returning them.  First two get them!

Check back for the other banner we made!

Season of Style Christmas Ornament

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

This very cute and easy ornament was shared at our Hamilton Extravaganza by Rayleen Baker and Andrea Schweer.  I loved it so much I came home and made up two more just like it!

Stampin up ornament christmas season of style easy

Made from simple strips of the Season of Style printed paper, it's a quick project using up the bits you may have just thrown away!

Stampin up ornament season of style

The box is a simple one made from one sheet of Whisper White and a small piece of our Window Sheets – stamped with Snowflake Soiree with White Staz-On ink.  It's a  5 minute box to put together, but makes the ornament as a gift just that much more special.

The Christmas words are from the Christmas Messages stamp set and are a nice finish off to the centre of this Christmas decor.

Merry LIttle Christmas Pop Up Card

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

One of my team member, Jackie Noble, shared a swap last month using this pop up technique, and I knew I just had to try it out for myself!  Using my current favorite colour combination and the Merry Little Christmas Card Kits, this is a super happy Christmas card:

And inside the card, by simply adding an A5 Whisper White with a series of simple cuts:

Cute!!  All the elements to this project are included in the Merry LIttle Christmas Card Kit except the Whisper White inner, the Old Olive tiny strip inside the card, and the optional  Real Red Ribbon.

The stamp set is the lovely Merry Little Christmas, which coordinates with this card kit perfectly, but is also really nice just as a Christmas set on it's very own.

**As a special bonus for those who read my blog: Email me with an order for at least one pack of the Merry Little Christmas Card Kits (8 cards)  from today through Sunday night and receive FREE Shipping on the kits!!

Merry Christmas Scrapbooking Layout

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

I really enjoy making Christmas projects in non-traditional colours and this latest layout is no exception!    I'm excited to share with you a little bit of digital hybrid in this one, too – even for those who aren't so sure about all that "digital stuff"!

We did this layout at our Hamilton Scrapbooking Day on Saturday – we had lots of fun!

Stampin up festive flurries scrapbooking layout christmas
The layout concept itself is quite simple and would be very suitable for many different colours and themes.  PLUS it's more than one photo, which is an exception to my usual style, I know, I know.  I based this layout from a similar one found on Pinterest.

Stampin up candy cane lane dsp mds
You may recognize the first square . . .it was actually a fabric design from a year or two ago called Candy Cane Christmas. Well guess what?  It's now available as a digital print. So I really did just drop the design onto an A4 blank page in My Digital Studio and printed it out at home!

Stampin up festive flurries layout christmas
These trees are so cute!  They are made very simply by cutting triagles using the Pennant Banner Punch.  I embossed the snowflakes from Festive Flurries in white and then cut out. You can't tell they are snowflakes, but the patterns are quite nice.

Stampin up my digital studio dsp
This is a "dsp" that I have literally designe and created in My Digital Studio.  I simply dragged and dropped in every Christmas word stamp I had and colored them to match the layout.  Copied and pasted the lot a couple of times to fill an A4, printed at home, and done!  This way you can get the perfect match every time.

Stampin up real red christmas layout mds
I also wanted to point out the photos – it was super easy to size them to exactly the square size I needed, change them to black & white, and add some Christmas words on them.  I literally got them all ready in about 8 minutes!  My Digital Studio is very user friendly – even if you only use it to edit photos, it's worth the $27.95!!

Stampin up expressions thinlits merry layout

Our last square is a little pocket, embellished with both types of embossing and a hand made tag.  And a title out of the Expressions Thinlits in Red Glimmer Paper is extra nice!!  (Must have sparkles with Christmas!)

I'd love to show you more about My Digital Studio.  I have put together 9 video tutorials that are yours free when you download either the Free Trial Version of MDS or the Full My Digital Studio for $27.95.

Christmas Star Double Slider Card

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

If you are starting early and up for a WOW card to send this year, this might be just the one for you!

Inspired by a double slider card using Swallowtail, designed by Barbara Bicknell and Vanessa Baker, I came up with a Christmas Version using the new, yummy Christmas Star:

Stampin up Christmas Star Double Slider
PUll on the ribbon and it comes up like this:

Stampin up Christmas Star winter frost
As you can see, I chose to use a family photo on one of the sliders just for fun.  It's nice to include an updated photo at Christmas time.  Black and White pictures are just the thing to match any project, too.

And this is the gorgeous card that inspired the above project:

For Those who Hate Tying bows: Check out the Big Bow!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Why not make it out of paper?!   I got to see so many fun and cool ideas using the Big Bowz Die at the North American Stampin’ Up! Convention, that it was top of the list of things to buy when I came home!  I got it out last week and made up this simple, but cute box:

Stampin up big bowz die chalk window box

I decided to emboss the bow before assembling not only for fun, but it made the bow more pliable to bend into shape.  The die actually comes with the pieces to make it a double bow (or more!), but opted for a more simple look on this one.

I think what I love is the stamping with White Staz-On onto the window on the box!  These are the Decorative Window Gift Boxes that come already scored, cut, printed with the white medallion, and with the window already there!  How easy is that? I just added the Christmas Sentiment and the bow. Done!

Stampin up christmas messages bowz window gift boxes
I chose the stamp image out of Christmas Messages that already had a chalkboard sort of look – combined with the more vintage colour combo of the Cherry Cobbler and the Crumb Cake, I thought it was perfect.

TIP: *** Staz-On is the only ink that will actually dry on acetate. We carry it in Black or White.

Calm Christmas in Vintage

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Stampin' Up! gives us such lovely stamps to work with – and I've been enjoying (as you can see) the new Christmas collections.     I took this project right out of the current Holiday Catalogue – see if you can find it!  🙂

Stampin up calm christmas season of style dictionary vintage
We did this one a the Hamilton Quilt & Craft show as a mini class at the stand, and people just loved it.  Easy to do and such a lovely stamp, even for weddings and general.

Stampin up calm christmas gold vintage dove
The lovely big dove is from the set Calm Christmas and stamped here in the Encore Gold ink.  We added that little leaf from the Bird Builder Punch for a bit of 3D.  I know so many of you already have this well-loved one!

Stampin up calm christmas cherry cobbler
I think it's really nice when a stamp set comes with a perfect saying to put on the inside as well. At the show, some ladies did not wish to put anything religious on a card they were sending out.  One solution is to just use a marker and ink up only the part you want to stamp.  However, in a large group, this is not very practical.  So I did this:

Stampin up how to edit stamps
Very forgiveable with the clear mount stamps!  If one doesn't want the bottom part, easy to just take off. If one does, easy to fit back together on the clear mounts.

If you'd like to place an order, I'd love to be your demonstrator!

A Different Take on Simply Created – Merry Little Christmas

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Who doesn't love a project that is quick to do AND looks fabulous??  Stampin' Up! has many lovely things in the new Holiday Catalogue, and one is the release of the Simply Created Kits. And my favorite so far is the Merry Little Christmas Kit, page 27.

I played around with this and while I adore the Merry LIttle Christmas stamp set, I used the Wishing You stamp set.  This project just makes me SMILE – so happy and fun!

Stampin up wishing you merry christmas little kit
All I have added extra is the little Real Red punched strip down the side and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Everything else comes with the kit – even the envelope and liner!  Easy!!

Stampin up wishing you merry little christmas kit
I quickly coloured up my stamp with the Real Red, Costal Cabana, and Gumball Green markers.  Because all the parts are simple squares, it was quick to do.  Looks great!

Stampin up wishing you season of style
Add a few more stamps inside the card and on the front of the envelope, and you have a very easy, matching, impressive ensemble.  (The white inner is not included in the kit, just fyi, but I bet you have Whisper White cardstock and if you don't, you need some!:)

I also have a PDF file of Bonus project ideas for this Christmas Card Kit FREE to you when you order the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit!!
