Hearts Come Home Sneak Peek

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Well last week was very busy getting ready for a huge team gathering here in Auckland over Friday and Saturday!  It was a lot of fun and all the efforts were noticed and appreciated, which does make it worthwhile.

On Friday evening, my team leaders (titled Silver Elite and above) got together for a little meeting, dinner, and socializing.  I wanted to make them each a small gifts – even little gestures can make a difference to someone.  I’ve used the new (and coming in 9 days!) bundle Hearts Come Home, a wonderful set with “skyline” dies:

You can use these three dies separately or all together. They look also nice with all the houses in the same colour, like white, or in graduated colours like I’ve done here.

So I wrapped these die cuts around a giant chocolate bar, one of my favorite gifts to give because it’s always wanted!  And knowing these are crafty ladies, I made the wrapper so it could slip off so they can eat their chocolate and still use the wrapper as a display or refill it later.

The new Music Specialty Christmas paper is also going to be a “must” this holiday season.  The bundle I’ve used here and the papers can be ordered as of 1 September.

It’s a great pleasure to make a special gift for someone – it’s one of the reasons we do what we do!  I know that you, too, will love using this new Hearts Come Home Bundle!

Do you have a copy of the Holiday Catalogue?

Thanks for stopping by my place,

Clean and Simple Colorful Seasons

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

You know that deck chair that is showing up all over the net?  (and here on my blog!)  Well the Colorful Seasons Bundle is actually quite a large die set that includes a scallop edge, the chair, leaves, snowflakes, and these beautiful flowers and branch:

I think this branch is absolutely gorgeous.

On this project, I wanted everything to be black and white with just the flowers standing out.  The pearls give it just a tiny bit of 3D to accentuate the focal point, too.

This would make a lovely sympathy card, or change up the words to be a thank you or birthday card.

I have used the new Garden Trellis Embossing Folder for the second layer in this project.   I thought it’s not only a pretty pattern, but it echos the clean feeling of these blossoms and branch.

This project is reasonably quick to complete.  I was thinking it would also make a super gift pack: do up a set of these, each card with a different sentiment from the bundle and each card with a different colour of flower.  Package them up together for an attractive gift.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’d love to have you in a class with me this August!

Kind regards,

Coffee Cafe – Thailand Grand Vacation Swaps – Altered Notebook

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

One of the many fun benefits to the Stampin’ Up! Grand Vacation trips is the opportunity to swap with other demonstrators around the world. I participated in three different swaps, and today’s share is one of them:

Although it’s not obvious from the photo, this is actually a notebook.  One of my favorite projects is to alter notebooks!  (Those who come to my classes know we do one at least once a year!).  I use notebooks and I love to take something rather ordinary and make it extra special.

Here I’ve used the Coffee Cafe bundle to create a fun, warm cup of hot chocolate (or whatever!) during this winter cold here in New Zealand.

For the background, I stamped and clear embossed using the new Tree Rings background stamp.  I really like this one . . .  it looks more like fingerprints to me than anything, but I think it’s fun and whimsical.      I then inked a tiny bit of colour in Soft Sky.

Make a coordinating pen and it’s a cute little gift set for yourself!

All the images and shapes are in the Coffee Cafe die set except the heart came from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits.

We had such a great time at the Auckland Extravaganza on Saturday. Other than my feet hurting by a very poor choice of shoes, the day could not have gone any better.  You can see all the events for 2017 HERE and also sign up for my newsletter for promotion updates, tips, videos, and newsletter only bundle offers:

Crafting Forever – Gifts for my Open House Tomorrow!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Tomorrow I am hosting an Open House (Drop in between 10-2) for the new catalogue, and I wanted to make a few gift items for the day, too.  What set is more perfect that the Crafting Forever?   So cute!

So five attendees tomorrow will receive one of these gift bags:

Each little bag contains two card bases, six pieces of Designer Series Paper, and 1 meter of ribbon.  All the corresponding In-Color, of course!

Each bags has a simple piece of cardstock folded over the top, embossed in the new Garden Trellis folder, and then the paintbrush image from the Crafting Forever set watercolored in.

I really didn’t want to cut these out five times over, so I watercolored a little bit of Smokey Slate around each image to give the illusion of 3D.    If you do watercoloring at all (or want to), I strongly suggest you get yourself a Smokey Slate ink pad for your tool kit!

Above we have Powder Pink, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig.

And these two new colours are Tranquil Tide and Lemon LIme Twist.

I look forward to giving these out tomorrow!   And it’s not too late to let me know if you are coming – drop in between 10-2pm in my studio in Birkenhead.  There is not cost to this event – Just come and make a few projects and enjoy a cuppa!

Brand New! 2017-2019 Five New In-Colours! Comparion and Inventory Charts!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend!  Today’s share is a long one, but with lots of resources and goodies!  Please have a read all the way to the end.   All the card samples are using the new Colorful Seasons Bundle.

I want to introduce you to the five new Stampin’ Up! colours:

Please meet Fresh Fig:

From top to bottom, the colours used here are Pink Pirouette, Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, and Fresh Fig.  The flowers are in Fresh Fig as well.     Fresh Fig is a very rich, dark wine sort of colour.

Please meet Tranquil Tide:

From top to bottom, the colours used here are Pool Party, Island Indigo, Tranquil Tide, and Always Artichoke.   As demonstrated in the video below, Tranquil Tide is very much an “in between” colour.  It will definitely change character depending on which colours you use it with!

Please meet Berry Burst:

From top to bottom we have Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst, Rich Razzleberry, and Fresh Fig.  The chair is also in Berry Burst.   This colour is a purple-pink with a good amount of vibrancy.

Please meet Lemon Lime Twist:

I predict this will be the most popular colour of the five!  Think fresh granny smith apples here.  From top to bottom, I have used Lemon LIme Twist, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Always Artichoke.   The leaf is also out of Lemon Lime Twist.

Please meet Powder Pink:

Colours from top to bottom are Pink Pirouette, Powder Pink, Blushing Bride, and Rose Red.  Powder Pink is soft purpley-pink, perfect for subtle projects or perhaps baby cards.

Please keep in mind that you can buy all five of these ink pads in a bundle for virtually the same price as buying four of them individually. This is your best deal!

Paisleys & Posies Quick & Easy Card!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Thursday night and the weather is cold and rainy here in Auckland!  Nice night to be tucked up inside.

Today’s share is a card idea I found on Pinterest last year, and it’s such a winner!  I am using the Paisleys & Posies stamp set here with a variety of colours.  I love projects that look so great with simplicity (actually I love all great-looking projects!):

Start by stamping your various paisley images from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set.  Choose any colour combination that appeals, but here I’ve used Mint Macaron, Island Indigo, Always Artichoke, and Cherry Cobbler.   (You can browse all 50 colours of ink pads HERE).

The placement isn’t exact – just decide on the sort of shape you want to create and start with the largest image first and work down to the smallest image.  Finish off with some Enamel Dots and/or Rhinestones.

As for the words, you can use any of your die cuts and coordinating stamps.  Crazy for You is a fantastic option (sadly retiring at the end of May!) and so is Sunshine Sayings (this one is staying for another year).

Basically we are stamping a flat background and then making one simple die cut the focal point.

I’ve matted this up a few times to add a bit more interest, too.  This also makes for a nice, sturdy greeting card.

And tassels are quite trendy at the moment; you and I will be seeing a lot more of tassels!  They sure do add an element of posh to a project.

Give this one a go!  If you don’t already have a demonstrator and live in New Zealand, I’d be happy to get you the products you need.  Alternatively, you can browse online:

Thanks for stopping by!  I sure do appreciate your support, your enthusiasm, and your friendship!

Bookcase Builder Altered Notebook – Cute Small Gift Idea!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

My personal favorite projects are taking something rather ordinary and making them extra special!   All you need is an inexpensive notebook.  I’ve used the small 1B4 notebooks and cut them in half here.   I’ve shared something like this before, but I’ve done up some leftover kits with current images and came up with these cuties:

I used the Bookcase Builder stamp set to embellish these little purse-sized notebooks for something a bit different.   I love how one can put various little things on each shelf, perhaps making the images and project personal to a particular person or to yourself.  Plus it’s fun!

I was thinking these would be a nice little book for writing down those funny things kids say, memories, keeping lists, spiritual thoughts, inspiration, creative colour combinations as you see them . . .

I also made up a more pastel version using the Subtles colour palette.

I simply cut a notebook in half and then covered it with the Kraft cardstock (you could use any colour, of course).   Then stamped the images on white, matted and adhered to the front.

I really enjoyed making this and love how they turned out!   Fortunately, this Bookcase Builder is staying with us for another year, and I look forward to using it on more projects!

Don’t forget to check out the Retiring LIst and the Clearance Rack before those items on your wish list are gone – and grab a bargain while you’re at it!

And if you’re in New Zealand and are my customer or don’t already have a demonstrator, let me know if you’d like a copy of the new catalogue. I can’t wait to share all the new, exciting colours, images, tools, and products with you!

Thanks for stopping by, and stay dry tonight,

Adhesive Tips – Tutorial Video and PDF File for your Reference

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Do you ever wonder which adhesive to use?  Or how to use it?

Stampin’ Up! offers a range of adhesives, and each has its advantages and purpose. I’ve created two resources that I hope will be of use to all adhesive users:

  1.  A video tutorial on how to use each of the STampin’ Up! adhesives.   I admit it – I’m a bit OCD and I want you to get the best value out of your resources.  I held an event recently and was surprised to find all three pairs of my scissors absolutely stuck shut by improper use of adhesives. I hope this video will answer a few questions and help you get more value out of your products:

2. I’ve also created a downloadable PDF file all about Adhesives. Here I’ve detailed out the pros and cons of each as well as provided a chart with suggestions for “best use” situations for each adhesive.   Of course, this list is not 100% comprehensive, but I think will cover the general paper crafter’s questions:

Stampin’ Up! Adhesive Reference Sheet

I hope you find both of those resources useful and helpful!   I do keep my ears open when I am teaching.  I want to know what you want to know!  If there is a resource you’d like to see, please feel free to let me know and I will put it on the list.

Thanks for stopping in to see me today!    If you need any adhesives, you can order them at any time by emailing me or by using my Online Shop.

P.S. Tomorrow I am heading over to Tauranga for an Egg Carton Box Class – I have 3 spots that could be filled. Please join us!mailto:mail@stamphappy.co.nz

P.P.S. This weekend is our big OnStage training days. This is where Stampin’ Up! corporate offers training and new product introduction for the upcoming catalogue in June!  We are all so excited to see what’s coming – can’t wait to share with you when we are allowed to share publicly!
