Colour Inspiration #6 – High Tide Masculine Watercolour Wash card

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Welcome to another wonderful blog hop by the Colour Inspiration Crew!  You are now at Jacque Williams’ blog in New Zealand!

Challenge #6 features Night of Navy, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Gold:

I had plans for this combination, but I recently received my copy of Stampin’ Success, the Stampin’ Up! magazine for demonstrators.  I was quite taken with the project featured there with this fun background:

stampin up high tide masculine nautical birthday technique

The background is created by smooshing ink onto our clear stamping blocks, spritzing with water, and then stamping!  Each one turns out quite differently.

The stamp set here is HIgh Tide, one that is suitable for the guys, but of course, not limited to!

And here is another version, more in keeping precisely with the colour challenge.

On the first example, I accidentally turned the background image upside down, but in looking at the two, I think I prefer it that way now.  Which do you like?

But actually my favorite thing about this card is the beams of light.  I intentionally made them “not solid” and I like the effect!

Last Call for SaleABration!

Welcome to the Thailand Incentive Trip Achievers Blog Hop for March 2017. Did you know that Sale-a-Bration finishes at the end of this month?? NOW is the time to make sure you have collected all the wonderful Sale-a-Bration products for FREE that won’t be available after this month.

At the moment you are visiting Jacque Williams in New Zealand!

I’d like to share with you a project using one of my favorites (Cool Treats) from the Occasions Catalogue, accented with the FREE SaleABration Glimmer Paper:

Each pack of Free Glimmer Paper comes with four 6×6 sheets of Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sugarplum (above).  Even a little bit goes a long way!

This fun card features an acetate window, onto which I have adhered a yummy ice cream sundae using the Cool Treats Bundle.

I love how this set lends itself to about any age, any gender, and many occasions.  It’s perfect for birthdays, but who wouldn’t love to get an ice cream card for any reason at all?!

I also made this a double opening card to allow more room for writing without anything showing through the acetate window.

Visit my Tutorials Page for instructions!

And earn that Glimmer Paper FREE with any $110 purchase (or another item of your choice)!  (New Zealand residents only)

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember you are currently at my blog – Jacque Williams – so check the blog hop line up list to see who is next in the list.

I love my job!  Who wouldn’t love getting paid to craft with friends?  If you’ve ever considered becoming a demonstrator, now could be a great time!

With Stampin’ Up!, being a demonstrator means you’ll enjoy all of this and more. Whether you want to earn extra household income, create a full or part-time career, or simply get a discount on your stamping supplies, being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator can help you meet your goals.

I signed up as a demonstrator in New Zealand in 2007  for a social outlet and to get wonderful crafting supplies at wholesale. However, three years later, my marriage ended and I was a solo mother with three daughters. Stampin’ Up! provided the perfect opportunity for me to step up my efforts and generate an income while still being flexible as I cared for my young children. I am now remarried, and my Stampin’ Up! business has changed and grown along with the varying needs in my life. It’s been a huge blessing to all of us. I now work this business full-time, and it is the sole source of income I provide for my family.

  1. What is the minimum sales requirement to stay active as a demonstrator?    You need only submit $450 plus gst per quarter to remain a demonstrator.  (This is less than the average sales in a single workshop. If you hold just one event a month, you can usually meet your quarterly minimum.  However, you can also purchase the minimum amount yourself or with a few friends). You can submit your sales requirements in one order or in smaller orders over the course of the three-month period.
  2. What if I want to do this as a hobby and not necessarily as a business?   You are welcome on the team no matter how you want to run your demonstrator ship or to what volume.  If you choose not to hold events, you can work to generate online orders, orders from family and friends, and order product for yourself.
  3. Can I be my own hostess?  Yes.  You can hold your own workshops and be your own hostess, collecting hostess dollars as well as your own discount and any other associated benefits.
  4. How much does it cost to buy the Starter Kit?  The kit is $189 and you can choose what comes in it!  Choose up to $285 worth of product plus you will receive a business supply pack valued at $90 (catalogues, order forms, etc).  Join before 31 March, 2017 and receive a bonus 2 stamp sets of your choice in your kit!
  5. Can I still attend classes?  As space permits.  While I very much value having team members in class so they can learn how I work and learn stamp techniques, keep in mind we have many demonstrator-only events.  Classes are hosted by and designed for clients, so while my team members ARE welcome, please understand if space doesn’t allow, the clients will be given priority.
  6. Do I have to recruit?  No, there is no requirement to build your own team. However, there are many benefits to doing so, such as the close relationships and the support you can give each other. If it’s something you’d like to do, I will give you full support and resources to help you meet your goals.
  7. What if I don’t meet the minimums or things change for me and I quit?  You may stop at any time and will not be penalized.  You simply stop placing orders. However, there are many benefits to remaining an active demonstrator.

“That was very kind and thoughtful of you to talk this (question) through with me and I am grateful for that. Although I don’t know you very well at all, I appreciate how easy it is to talk to you. I trust you completely and I am thrilled to be a member of your team.” R. Auckland

Just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed Saturday’s training day -it was so well organised and so much fun the day just flew!  It was great to learn some new techniques and see all that lovely work, thank you for giving me the opportunity to come along as well.  It was also great to see Debbie and others getting the recognition that they have worked so hard for, you are all very supportive. ” L.M. Thank you again for such a wonderful day yesterday – it was so enjoyable, and I thought your take on the award ceremony was fabulous. You know, if I don’t make it to convention next year, I’d be more than happy with a day like we had yesterday; I wouldn’t feel like I missed too much at all! Cool Treats DEBossed Birthday Card + Tutorial Video!

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Happy Wednesday!  Today I want to share with you a project I’ve wanted to try for a while now – a debossed card using one of my favorite stamp sets: Cool Treats.

I love how fun and fresh these images are!

stampin up cool treats debossed sweet

This project starts out using the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders to create a valley on the Whisper White cardstock.  On this sample I’ve used Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and Pool Party.

I did a few different colour versions to show that this can be done for either gender or any age.  For someone more sophisticated, I’d choose very soft colours, for example.   But who doesn’t like ice blocks or at least have warm memories eating one?

This colour combination is So Saffron, Pool Party, and Watermelon Wonder.  I’ve also switched the card base to Pool Party.

All the images are from the Cool Treats stamp set.  This can also be bundled with the dies for a discount, which are very useful for future projects.

This project is March’s Birthday Club project – purchase kits of this project, pre-cut and ready to go!  You can purchase just the kits or with the stamps, dies, and folder!

And please enjoy this video tutorial!

Colour Inkspiration Challenge #4 – Make a Medallion

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Welcome to Blog Hop #4 for the Colour Inkspiration Crew!  I feel delighted to be invited to take part in the crew!  You too can play along with the colour challenges on Facebook.

This week’s challenge was truly a challenge.  Using complimentary colours, the contrast can be quite vivid.

I used inspiration from past projects and toned the colour combination right down with lots of white space:

stampin up new zealand eggplant medallion birthday card

I have used here the NEW Make a Medallion stamp set.  Triple step stamping on this one allows you to have multiple colours in the medallion with ease!  You can, of course, also use the images separately or in a monochromatic fashion.

The best part?  This one is FREE!  Place your order out of any of the current catalogues of $110 and this one is all yours.

We have a wee collection going on here: the Wooden Hearts, the Lace Doilies, the Burlap Ribbon all paired up with the Stitched Framelits dies.

I used the same stamp on the Eggplant (white embossed) as I used on the Elegant Eggplant stamped portion of the medallion.

Easy Thinking of You Card with Window Box Dies

Like Love Haha Wow Sad Angry

Happy Monday!  Sometimes you just need a quick card to complete in a hurry or you need a practical project of which you can create multiples, such as for an invitation or similar.     Today’s share is the perfect idea!  Sally Williams brought this cute project to our last team’s Shoebox Swap:

stampin up window box die quick easy diy card

Easy and effective.

Create the peekaboo effect by using one of the many beautiful dies from the Windowbox Collection.  They are designed to make and embellish a cute, hexagonal box, but they also look great on the front of a card!  (You can also purchase this die set in a Bundle)

This easy project is only two layers – the bottom layer has the colour and the top layer features the cut outs.

The colour below could be printed paper or anything pretty you like!  Here, I’ve sponged Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum randomly.  It looks a bit ugly when you do it, but it looks great underneath this dainty die image.

A little twirl of that gorgeous copper thread, a sentiment from a scrap, and a sprinkle of Pearls finishes this lovely card off.

Remember you get a FREE SaleABration Item with any purchase of $110!  (See the Second Release SaleABration Selection HERE)

I’ve been a bit MIA the last week or so; I’ve been heads down super busy getting ready for our annual team Stamp Camp.  I returned last night, and it was yet another successful and fun few days with the girls. It’s heartwarming to see how quickly new demonstrators are assimilated and how everyone shares and helps out.   We were extra blessed this year to be visited by the President and COO of Stampin’ Up! Rich Jutkins. He made a flying visit to New Zealand to spend a day with us:

Our camp dates are booked for next year and we’d love to have you with us!  Heck, we’d just love to have you be part of our Stampin’ Up! family.  Read more about it and see if the fit is right for you!
